You covered all the basics and you did it with mostly products people can pick up locally. Kudos!

i like the bonafide beauty glass nail files! but honestly if the metal one works for you that’s fine like you said better than an emery board, i used metal ones for years!
also welcome to the community! so sorry to your wallet but im glad you’re here! polish brings me so much joy for some reason & i hope it does for you too! 😊💕

I love the Meticulous Manicurist. I've learned so much from her over the years about healthy nail care and I absolutely love her product line. From polish to nail files and everything in between. I've purchased pretty much all of my nail tools from her over the past three years. I actually didn't get into nails for the polish. My initial attraction to nail care was because I simply wanted healthier nails. I used to work as a caregiver for the elderly and my hands were constantly in bleach. My nails were not happy. I accidently came across the Meticulous Manicurist here on UA-cam and I got hooked. It wasn't until this past March (Yes, March 2024) that I happened to catch a UA-camr talking about Polish Pickup and decided to check out the website. It was then that I discovered the joy of color. Prior to this I was happy simply wearing clear polish. lol Please don't hate me...I've literally ALWAYS been a late bloomer. lol As far as nail polish remover and cuticle oil goes. I've been enjoying the Mango cuticle oil from Meticulous Mango...it smells amazing. I also like the instant moisture cuticle oil from Nailaid. I love the Nailaid acetone nail polish remover and the Onyx Professional Acetone remover from Walmart. I also religiously use Nailaid "Kerotin 3 Day Growth" under my bottom coat. I've got no nail staining which admittedly weird me out a bit. Thanks for sharing your video. Please keep sharing content. :)

Thank you for watching! I will go check out their channel! I had nail salon acrylics a couple months ago & my nails are STILL breaking because of it. I'm trying everything to get them healthy again. I could use all the advice I can get!

@@TiffanyFord_13 I forgot to mention that I also take a "hair, skin and nails supplement". This combined with a proper nail care routine has literally made all the difference for me. No more ridges. Now, if I experience breakage it's because I've done something careless. Also, I'm anemic...I didn't learn until recently that anemia can cause hang nails around cuticles and inflammation...so, yeah, I'm also taking an iron supplement religiously. I got lazy about for a month or so and boy did I learn my lesson. lol

I love my glass cuticle file. I picked up another one from polish pick up to use for pedicures. The edge that pushes is smooth and glides over nail surface. I use the other edges to file rough skin if needed. It gets under the nail to remove nail “skirts”. I got a germanikure glass file and I don’t like it. Most glass files seem to skip. I use a 340 to 400 grit foam board file from sally beauty supply. I also picked up a dappen dish with lid to have my remover ready for cleanup and the lid slows evaporation. My favorite base coat is nail aid keratin which I also use under nail wraps when I wear them. Orly bonder will always be a staple as I use it for nail art (glitter burnishing, chrome powders, and creating a tacky base for reverse stamping, water decals and decals I made).

Is your glass file thick? I bought one from Sally's & it was too thick to get the edges 🫠

I love the Germanikure glass files... they are spendy but the best I have tried. They also come with a really nice leather protective case.

i love cnd sticky base- i always check to see if base coat has polyvinyl butyral- its an adhesive- that really helps polish stay on

when i started to paint my nails i didn't know anything about clean up brushed lol
so i used the nail polish corrector pen from essence 😊 i find it really beginner friendly 🙂

@@TiffanyFord_13 it really helps to not flood your cuticles with nail polish remover 😊 and you can dip it in some nail polish remover and extend the life of the pen when it's drying up 🙂 but now i also use clean up brushes (and sometimes the pen when there is a lot to clean up lol)
