    • @Yogomi
      @Yogomi  8 місяців тому

      Hey there. It can be used with a PS5, but it does require a workaround since the M-Caster Studio doesn't have HDMI inputs. I made a video talking about it and showing my solution in this clip from a Twitch stream here: ua-cam.com/video/M0BpxVgELos/v-deo.html

    I just got mine connected last night and was struggling, I guess I was overenthusiastic because of all the “easy setup” info I was seeing on YT. However, what wasn’t mentioned was the fact that on a Mac you must have the Mackie M-Caster Studio selected as both audio output AND INPUT in the audio settings. I had terrible sounding audio from most everything I tried up until I put audio to input and output. 😎

    Hi. Do you know how many ohms the unit can comfortably power? I checked the manual & it doesn’t cover this. I emailed Mackie support & they were super unhelpful- basically said I should check online for reviews (there are none) and that they don’t believe publishing these specs would be helpful (wth 🤯🤦‍♀️). Obviously most people can’t afford to buy multiple pairs of professional headphones just to work out if the unit can power the amount of ohms- but Mackie thinks this is acceptable. Maybe I just got a poor customer support agent.. one hopes so….

      @@mariamacrae5 Hey there! Sorry it took me awhile to get back. I couldn't find any specifics on the exact range, but I will tell you that I have a Rode Procaster attached which you can see in the video and I use every stream. The microphone has an output impedance of 320 Ohms and it works and sounds great. I do have a Fethead attached to it, but I have Fetheads on all three of my Rode mics, the other two being Rode Podmics. They are both connected different interfaces. I hope that helps.

So using a mic to talk into the M-casrer that outputs to any cellphone to TikTok & head phones for monitoring?

      Hey there! Thanks for checking out the video! Glad you liked it.
      The device works with pretty much any mic that uses XLR. I just prefer to use Rode mics. The Fethead was connected to the mic before I got the M-Caster Studio; I was using a Zoom U-22 interface beforehand. I have Fetheads on all three of my mics here in this streaming area. I just like the extra boost it gives me.

      @@Manish-o9n4s Yes. Totally makes sense. I need to do some testing, but I'm wondering if TikTok's API is the problem. @@Manish-o9n4s I just tested it in the Voice Memo app and it picked up the audio from the M-Caster Studio. I even moved the phone away and tapped the mic to make sure I wasn't hearing things. So it might be TikTok or the API's of these applications that are only accepting audio from the phone and not Bluetooth. Maybe getting the TRRS adapter and running the audio directly out and into the phone would work, but that might defeat the purpose.

    thank you for the video. I have two questions if I may:
    - do you know if this offers more or the same amount of vocal effects as the Mackie ProFX6v3 mixer?
    and
    - am I right in thinking I can plug a 3.5mm to 6.35mm lead from the output on the M-caster into my audio interface and therefore have this running in my daw through my usual interface?
    thanks in advance

    • @Yogomi
      @Yogomi  Рік тому +1

      Hello! I wouldn't really compare the effects on the M-Caster Studio to the effects on the ProFX6v3.
      The effects in the M-Caster Studio are really focused for live streaming and creating content. In my opinion they're more like special effects while the ProFX6v3 has 24 more professional effects. There are also functions on the M-Caster Studio that are not present on the ProFX6v3 like separate mic contouring as well as fun voice effects. Also, the ProFX6v3 does not have BlueTooth capabilities.
      You can run a 1/8th to 1/4th stereo cable out and send sound to your DAW. I've run mine into a Focusrite Scarlett 18i20 and was able to record into Logic.
      Hope that helps!

      @@Yogomi thank you so much for your reply. I know its not an easy comparison to make as they are very different devices and im not planning on using the caster as intended.
      it was more to help me decide which to buy first.
      i think I may go for the caster, making sure i can run it through an interface was my main concern, thank you for confirming.
      I plan on using it as a replacement for my tc-helicon perform v and use it as a vocal processor for recording and live performance. the screen and ui seem more user friendly than the helicon.

    Question: If I'm on a conference phone call and want to play music so others on the conference call will hear the music along with me speaking at the same time, is that possible with this device?
    What I've been doing is using my Beats Pro headphones and plugging one side of my headphone into my phone for the call and plugging a music source into the other side of my headphone and that's how people are hearing music while on the conference calls. I'm looking for a better solution.
    Could you help me or if anyone here have any suggestions? Please let me know!!!!

    • @Yogomi
      @Yogomi  Рік тому

      Hello. The answer is yes. If you are using Mackie M-Caster Studio as your audio source in the call, meaning the mic you’re speaking with is connected to the mixer, anything else connected will be audible. You’ll have control of the volume based on the corresponding channel.

    • @dezfyah
      @dezfyah Рік тому

      @@Yogomi so just want to be clear. I can make the phone call, using an external microphone, and a music source, having all 3 (cell phone, microphone, music source) plugged in to the mixer at the same time, and everyone on the call will hear the music being played as I'm talking through the microphone?

    • @Yogomi
      @Yogomi  Рік тому

      Correct. As long as the mixer is selected as your audio source/microphone anything that goes through will be heard. An app like Zoom won’t isolate or separately block multiple sounds coming from one source like a mixer. You’ll have full control over what goes through and what others hear.

    Great video Thank you. Would this device be able to power the Shure Sm7B mic or would a cloud lifter be needed?

    • @Yogomi
      @Yogomi  2 роки тому +1

      I think it will work just fine as it has phantom power, but I use a preamp for my mic anyway; even before getting the M-Caster.
      I use a preamp on all my Mics.
      The mic you see in the video is the Røde Procaster. I have a Triton Audio FetHead connected to it as well as to two other mics in the studio. On the other setsups have two Røde Podmics both connected to Zoom U-22 interfaces.
      I chose the FedHead for all my mics because it plugs directly into the mic and you don't need two XLR cables as you would with the Cloudlifter.
      Hope that helps!
