Just a wholesome little fact about Diamond Dallas Page: It is a known fact that many wrestlers of the 80s and 90s are dying well before their time; DDP has made it his life's goal to save as many of the wrestlers as he can. Along with his DDP Yoga system, he has a home, that he calls his Accountability House, where he houses many people that are suffering from addiction and depression, and personally builds up the minds and bodies of broken and hurting wrestlers, and other people, to make them healthier and happier. He is a genuinely empathetic and kind person that wants all of his fellow wrestlers to live long and healthy lives.
They couldn't have Nathan on this episode because then we'd have had two guys who can spin endlessly entertaining back story content and we'd have ended up with just a Pokemon/Wrestling podcast.
the way how James explained wrestling is more like a theater show and then checkoff's gun really makes me actually believe that I might enjoy wrestling, he's the first person to ever do that.
Wrestling feels a lot like comics. If you hear a fanatic cherry pick the best stuff it sounds amazing, but then you try to get into it yourself and it's just another full year of Wolverine fighting Sabertooth
If you can set aside any expectations of realism and come to terms with the fact that you're watching a melodrama filled with ridiculous characters where the solution to every problem is fighting, then you'll be just fine watching wrestling! (and now, having described wrestling in that way, I've come to realize that wrestling is just a shonen anime)
“Smells Similar To But Legally Distinct From Teen Spirit” It’s barely half a joke, but it’s all so could think of, and it wouldn’t leave me until I shared it

Because they were curious when everyone's careers were: Big Van Vader wrestled from 1985-2017, though he didn't take on his famous ring name until 1987 when he was recruited by New Japan Pro-Wrestling. His most prominent years in the U.S. were 1992-1995 in WCW and 1996-1998 in the WWE. He died in 2018. I met him when he was a guest at Motor City Comic Con a year or two prior to that. Irwin R. Schyster had a long in-ring career as well (1981-2007), but he only played that gimmick from 1991-1995 in the WWE. He played a similar gimmick from 1995-1997 in the WCW as "V.K. Wallstreet," but mostly wrestled under his actual name, Mike Rotunda, or various 'regular name' personas. Diamond Dallas Page worked from 1988-2020, starting as in an on-air manager gimmick before moving to ring work. His biggest years were in WCW from 1994-2001. Now he's mostly a motivational speaker/teaches his own form of Yoga. I met him at Motor City Comic Con as well.

Yeah. Took me back to my articles days. You never forget your first clothes line. Mine was a Fixed Asset Registers clerk. Poor old lady was four days from retirement. I didn't want to but my Audit Manager looked at me and said " It's pretty of the terms of service and a requirement of the Johannesburg Stock Exchange." Never checked up on her again. She never came to the audit lunch. I hope she's okay. Love you, grandma.
I'd love to see a Hieronymous Bosch episode of some kind. A Hieronymous Bosch manga! Hieronymous Bosch dating sim! Hieronymous Bosch on a big collaborative shared canvas! Hieronymous Bosch in the style of Yu-Gi-Oh! Hieronymous Bosch expanded cinematic universe!
Sometimes they're backstory is just they're real life. Vader doesn't have a backstory at all. His story is: He showed up in Japan and easily defeated the real life most iconic wrestler there (which made everyone in the audience so mad they set their pillows on fire and threw them into the ring, it's real look it up). Later he came back to America and some highlights are him being responsible for a wrestler getting his ear torn off, fighting another wrestler for real and getting his orbital destroyed and his eye hanging out his head, knocking out another wrestler who was a real life MMA fighter, and many more dangerous things. Wrestling is fake but wrestlers are real.
Idk much about wrestling, but i do like the idea of the undertaker being like the Genghis Khan of wrestling - he's absolutely terrifying and if you go back far enough you're probably related to him Also pls draw earthbound/mother enemies from name only
I'm watching this while working at an accounting firm. My boss (good friend who hired me) has always loved wrestling, and is a tax attorney. Obviously, I now and forever have to refer to him as Irwin R. Schyster. Thanks y'all!
James' description of the DDP theme song is so 100% spot on! I just looked it up and listened to it, and it is EXATLY Smells Teen Spirit, but two of the notes are inverted (or swapped position with each other).
Check out AEW!! they're out here doing so much better in terms of story building and representation than WWE ever could dream of doing. So good, genuinely got me into wrestling.
as a wrestling and drawfee fan I LOVED THIS EPISODE if you ever wanna do another one, maybe you can also draw based on wrestling gimmicks (basically the persona of a character)!!
Day 24 of requesting to draw some of the 14 Fears/entities (stranger, eye, spiral, buried, hunt, desolation, web, etc) from the magnus archives. Could be their avatars, manafestaions/monsters, or just whatever y'all think of based on their description
Wrestling is so full of great Drawfee names. Ultimo Dragon, The Shockmaster, The Hurricane, Ass Man, Dude Love, and of course, the infinitely hilarious Shawn Michaels.
I just want to say that I really appreciate James not giving away spoilers for these deep lore events, because I'm just waiting on a good strong stomach bug to put me in bed long enough to binge-watch wrasslin'.
Check out AEW! they're significantly better in terms of story building and have just hit their first year just a bit ago so there's less to "catch up" on. So, so incredibly good.
If I may recommend a starting point, WWE's show NXT was absolutely incredible from 2016 onwards so NXT TakeOver: Dallas would be a good start. However, as Caitlynn suggested, AEW are also a great promotion
@@caitlynnpollard5055 @Zac Smith Thanks y'all! That's pretty much exactly what I was looking for! (I've also stumbled upon Luchador Underground and am very excited about that journey).
I've always hoped for wrestling and Drawfee (my two favorite things to enjoy on the web) to intersect, but I never pitched it because I figured it'd be a waste of breath or finger-use. Thanks, James!
I didn't know what to expect for this episode considering the travesty that was the previous wrestling episode where Caldwell and Nathan drew Wario and Waluigi
Ok but real talk though, Jacob's idea of starting a normal episode and then having James come in unexpectedly to switch the drawing prompt to wrestling is actually brilliant.
Omg, Julia just brought up a missed opportunity for IRS’ briefcase being used in ladder matches. Like, if the Repo Man repossessed a wrestler’s ladder and they had to get it back, but IRS using legalities so that the heroes’ ladder is stuck behind red-tape, but then challenges IRS for his briefcase?! I want to see Julia’s wrestling promotion, i bet she’ll book good storylines.
I see an new episode of Drawfee come out and suddenly I'm so excited and I just can't hide it. I sometimes even find myself about to lose control, and I think I may very well like it.
It would be cool if they did one of the color challenges with this as an added rule! They’ve done purple, blue and green, maybe this one could be yellow, pink, or red?
Day 22 of asking: Hey, back in one of your old streams, y'all drew yourselves as DnD characters. Well, I wanna see an updated version of that, and with Karina this time! Maybe even do it in a speed draw ep to really do 'em up! Thank you!
Ok, i'm drunk right now and having a silly conversation with some friends, but I believe this would be a good drawfee prompt. My friend posed the question "we have racecar beds, but why don't we have racecar toilets?" We then went on to discuss what would make a "racecar toilet," a "racecar toilet." It is not having a racecar bathroom, because the bathroom would be a race track. and there would have to be two toilets so you could race your friends. So, basically, "draw a racecar toilet group draw on one canvass" would be the prompt. Tl;dr new drawing prompt: racecar toilet.
I'd love to see a "We draw berserk characters weve never heard of" in honor of Kentaro Miura. Considering how insane so many of Miura's designs were, it could be really interesting.
I think that creating Dark Souls bosses from metal band names would be great. King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard would be a great Onstein and Smough style boss
Throwing it out there again: Y’all should do a round robin of the Portrait of Dorian Gray; one artist does the original pretty man painting, and the others each take a turn building up the age and disfigurement.
Every time there's an RT/Drawfee crossover I get such a big smile on my face! I hope you guys get to work with more and more RT people, maybe even from AH or STF or whatever it was RTCore rebranded to.
Drawfee suggestion! dinosaur lies have many possible applications the bone game, we got mostly just the bones! you can use the fossil skulls, maybe even the distorted fossils to add extra challenge you've done tons of different scientific name episodes, all dinosaurs are known by the scientific name, also please choose Irritator challengeri as one because it's such a good name
And with the addition of rhe catchphrase, Julia's invented wrestler seems super real and like you could totally see him on RAW or something, I can't be the only one who feels this way

TIL auditing is a thing beyond scientology
Yeah. Took me back to my articles days. You never forget your first clothes line. Mine was a Fixed Asset Registers clerk. Poor old lady was four days from retirement. I didn't want to but my Audit Manager looked at me and said " It's pretty of the terms of service and a requirement of the Johannesburg Stock Exchange."
Never checked up on her again. She never came to the audit lunch. I hope she's okay.
Love you, grandma.
Ayyy, accounting bros
Suggestion "Artists draw poems": there's alot of weird and vague poems out there
they've done that i believe
@@ginabeana3469 nah, they did song lyrics tho
a lot of*
I'd say Jabbewocky, but that's already something we all know well.
I asked this the other day, but PRETTY PLEASE draw cute Japanese mascots as Dark Souls bosses!!!
I didn’t even knew that I need this before reading this comment
oh gosh I'd love to see kumamon as a dark souls boss XD
I think I need this the other way around
Or the opposite, cute mascot versions of Dark Souls bosses, advertising their areas in the game.
Scratch that, dark souls bosses as cute Japanese mascots
You should design characters based on desserts with weird names, like pandowdies, tiny raspberry fools, grunts, and eton messes!
god i need to see them draw tiny raspberry fools 😭
this is a brillaint ideo omg
I need to see tiny raspberry fools!
Car Wars, the crossover we never knew we needed.
That's a war game
I'd love to see a Hieronymous Bosch episode of some kind. A Hieronymous Bosch manga! Hieronymous Bosch dating sim! Hieronymous Bosch on a big collaborative shared canvas! Hieronymous Bosch in the style of Yu-Gi-Oh! Hieronymous Bosch expanded cinematic universe!
I legit thought you meant the crime novel series by Michael Connelly and I got so excited, but the painter would be cool too I guess
Apparently wrestlers sit round making their character backstory like in a DND episode
Actually probably yes
Yay!! I’m so glad James is here, AND that they finally did this prompt! There are so many ridiculous names in wrastlin’. Do this again!!
this is so good, the drama of wrestling was perfect for drawfee vibes and James was so fun
Idk much about wrestling, but i do like the idea of the undertaker being like the Genghis Khan of wrestling - he's absolutely terrifying and if you go back far enough you're probably related to him
Also pls draw earthbound/mother enemies from name only
I know quite a lot about Wrestling and that's basically the truth
I love that Julies description of what she thought DDP would look like was actually super close to what Razor Ramon TUALLY looked like.
RIP Razor Ramon.
I loved the story about Chekhov's tables that morphed into the headcanon that it's where IRS man does his work and that provokes him into the fight
I used to watch wrestling as a kid, and I truly forget how insane and soap opera like it was. Yeah, I’m gonna need a part 2 episode please🤌🏻
Same! I'm still a Wrestling fan and there's so many wild things Drawfee could create
Check out AEW!! they're out here doing so much better in terms of story building and representation than WWE ever could dream of doing. So good, genuinely got me into wrestling.
Would've loved their take on Finn Balor's The Demon
It's a weird hybrid between Soap Opera and Legitimate Sport.
I had no idea that the lore of wrestling could get so complicated
Wrestling is just soap operas but a thousand times sweatier and cooler.
as a wrestling and drawfee fan I LOVED THIS EPISODE if you ever wanna do another one, maybe you can also draw based on wrestling gimmicks (basically the persona of a character)!!
Drawfee should be on Funhaus sometime! I feel like they would be weirdly good at Trend Show, or Jacob’s Gmod, or they could beat ass in Gartic Phone!
they are great doing gartic phone
God, I hope they do more with James and Elyse. The chemistry that they have with those two is so good.
I'm so happy this exists!! Elyse and now James? jesus, my two favourite channels are getting closer to merging day by day
James is such a gift to this show.
Now that you’ve delved into wrestling… Draw yourselves AS pro wrestlers!
Day 24 of requesting to draw some of the 14 Fears/entities (stranger, eye, spiral, buried, hunt, desolation, web, etc) from the magnus archives. Could be their avatars, manafestaions/monsters, or just whatever y'all think of based on their description
As someone who recently started watching The Magnus Archives I REALLY want to see this
@@unclefilthy848 I've slowly been gaining more likes, maybe they'll see it soon
@@2dtrash19 truth ^^^
@@caitlynnpollard5055 @Zac Smith Thanks y'all! That's pretty much exactly what I was looking for! (I've also stumbled upon Luchador Underground and am very excited about that journey).
@@andrewrobinson4019 oooh, excellent place to start tbh
Karina's drawing looks identical to my grandfather (who is an accountant)
I'd love another episode of this, so many funny wrestling names
"I'm picturing, like, a grungy... Fabio..."
Fuck that's close to the DDP Aesthetic...
Drawfee challenge idea: change the artist every 30 seconds for 30 minutes (on any subject or any subject commended below mine)
It would be cool if they did one of the color challenges with this as an added rule! They’ve done purple, blue and green, maybe this one could be yellow, pink, or red?
Maybe drawing the poster for a movie neither of you have watched
Day 22 of asking: Hey, back in one of your old streams, y'all drew yourselves as DnD characters. Well, I wanna see an updated version of that, and with Karina this time! Maybe even do it in a speed draw ep to really do 'em up! Thank you!
Yes! I've been wanting them to revisit pro wrestling names. And especially with James.
I’d love to see gijinkas of Joy and Olive, and other pets the hosts have had!
This is such a fun idea!! I’m learning so much I never knew I needed. Thank you James and Drawfee. You guys should bring him back and do a part 2
"They can be grunge chaps, don't be shy!" Quotes like this are why I love this channel.
Jame’s passion for this topic is absolutely infectious!
Irwin R. Schyster reveal.
Me: OH MY GOD STEVEN UNIVERSE'S "TIGRE MILLIONAIRE" WAS NOT ONLY A STORYBOARDER'S FEVER DREAM?!
Karina’s post-recording render has no business being that good!
Like old school drawfee also I felt James when he said plz don't erase everything
Shockmaster's debut certainly made Julia's day, and I agree with her and Jacob's reactions to it. That poor guy, what an amazing tragedy of a debut.
I see a drawfee draws their wrestler personas in the future
Drawfee and Funhaus are pretty much my favorite channels on UA-cam and whenever they meet it makes my entire week!
The fact that y'all can recall names of fictional characters that y'all made once really shows how much you love your art
He didn't remember the Shockmaster? Oh man I can't believe he wasn't able to tell Karina about it!
I'd love to see a "We draw berserk characters weve never heard of" in honor of Kentaro Miura. Considering how insane so many of Miura's designs were, it could be really interesting.
Idea: Part two of drawing race horses based on their names. We need more creatures loosely based on horses!
I always loved that episode!
as an artist and aspiring wrestler, this episode made me SO happy!!! thank you drawfee :) i hope youll do a part 2 some time!
I think that creating Dark Souls bosses from metal band names would be great. King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard would be a great Onstein and Smough style boss
I love how much Big Van Vader looks like a buff Tartakovsky Clone Wars Anakin
Throwing it out there again:
Y’all should do a round robin of the Portrait of Dorian Gray; one artist does the original pretty man painting, and the others each take a turn building up the age and disfigurement.
That is a really cool idea! I second it!
Every time there's an RT/Drawfee crossover I get such a big smile on my face! I hope you guys get to work with more and more RT people, maybe even from AH or STF or whatever it was RTCore rebranded to.
Drawfee suggestion!
dinosaur lies have many possible applications
the bone game, we got mostly just the bones! you can use the fossil skulls, maybe even the distorted fossils to add extra challenge
you've done tons of different scientific name episodes, all dinosaurs are known by the scientific name, also please choose Irritator challengeri as one because it's such a good name
This was so awesome! I love how much fun y'all sound like you're having creating awesome drawings!
alrighty
imma try and manifest this into existence
please do
a drawing yourselves as powerpuff girls villains
And with the addition of rhe catchphrase, Julia's invented wrestler seems super real and like you could totally see him on RAW or something, I can't be the only one who feels this way
Make wrestlers as gundam characters, WITH THEIR MOBILE SUITS!!!
That is one of the most G-Gundam things I've ever read, and I love it!
40:41 Julia's little gasp when James says 'Not sorry' I can't. XD XD
