I wish the South African press, along with the general public, would quit telling lies to Saffas abroad about the supposed 'urgent need for Engineers' here. In fact, what you would find is that the job market here is just as callous for STEM graduates compared to elsewhere. Incidentally, Engineering graduates here are settling for customer service positions and the trades, where they end up earning proportionally more than what they would have earned otherwise. Not to mention, the sheer amount of nepotism.
South Africa needs more youtubers like you guys. so relatable. Great contents. I did Mechanical Engineering but during the lockdown last year I taught myself web development and I'm about to start my job hunt in web dev ... do I regret studying Mech Eng? No but I just wish I had good mentors when I started
I remember having short interactions with each of you at UCT. Stellar lads 👌 The fact that you can do almost anything with an Engineering Degree is why I would do it again Awesome video🔥🙌
Fourier transform, Z transforms, Laplace transform. . .you are reminding me of the struggle, when l was doing my BEng degree in Computer and Electronics Engineering at NWU Pukke.
Forgot to mention my reason for Mechatronics is the same as Ntsako. I always loved video games and game consoles and technology always fascinated me. When the first Ironman movie came out I was completely hooked. To me, it was a superhero that is realistic. Then I met someone who studied mechatronics and was quite close to him for a while and just the interaction speaking about his studies made me think "That's how I become Ironman". As for how varied the job scope is, it can make job hunting difficult especially if you're not 100% certain of where you want to be.
I really love this content as a fellow Comp Eng, I wish I knew how to land the Amazon Thank you for your lovely and relatable content Mr Trying2Adult (Lol, you are like a big brother so I am putting some respect on your name Mr Tino) I look forward to more exciting and Inspirational content
Just a friendly remark, there's a high pitched noise in the background of the audio track, probably good idea to send your audio through a band pass filter and clip above 17kHz. I can hear it and it's giving me a headache. Thankfully the subtitles worked great so I could still watch it anyway :D Thumbs up.
Thanks for the heads up man. This was definitely a one time mistake and hopefully won’t happen again 😬 Unfortunately, I accidentally unplugged my mic just before this recording so in my efforts to recover the audio, I had to increase the the gain from a different mic by about 25dB and it was already full of so much noise and hissing which I tried to filter out. I’ll definitely try the band pass filter next time something like this happens. Wouldn’t have thought of that! Learnt my lesson and thinking of setting up a backup audio recording solution 😅
Great video, Geomatics graduate currently working in the WISP space, the versatility of the Engineering degree allows you to adapt in new environments outside engineering.
Can we have an in depth conversation about the journey from startup to breaking even to profitable, short term and long term goals along with how to achieve them efficiently.
I got N6 in mechanical engineering since 2019 I can't get my diploma because I must do an in service training for at least 18months. which is very hard to get, I'm kinda stuck for like 2 years now. applying every week but still don't get anything … I'm now doing other stuff that don't have anything to do with my field of study.
I am currently doing Gr12 and plan on doing ECE at UCT next year.I feel extremely inspired by this video
I wish I saw this video before I graduated Mechanical Engineering. Eish, the job market is tough. Thank you for this wholesome content.
Thank you man I appreciate it. It’s a really tough world for engineering graduates I feel your pain. All the best with the hunt 👊🏾

😂 bruhh that stuff really screws with your brain. Felt like a massive achievement passing those courses
That Was Torture In My Physics & Electronics Major. Almost Lost My Mind. Could Never Be Me Again.

Dude…incredible video! Would definitely love more of these.
Thank you bro. Glad to hear it! Will be on the look out for interesting characters to have those discussions with
You're doing an awesome job man🔥🤝🏾

The more I watch tech videos, it's the more I get affirmed I made the right decision by picking BCom Informatics....
Great video,. Very inspiring!
Thank you Nico! 🙏🏾
also did Electronic Engineering but posting Tech Vids on UA-cam is my thing now
Great stuff guys
Thank you Mr Dj 🙏🏾
📍📍📍📍📍📍here for learn
Your videos, dude 👌🏿
😁 thank you Anyik 🙏🏾
Lovely video very informative thanks.
I’ve heard of Jonga I just didn’t know who was behind it
I’m happy to say I was in the same class with him!!!
@@trying2adult Happy to say I was in the same class as both of you. I love seeing peers succeed.
Thank you Abdul! It was a pretty lit class despite the amount of torture that took place 🕺🏿
I wish I was in that class, it seems there was a lot of success there 😅
Any other SA UA-cam channels as good as Tino's ? Please share.

Which institution did you study in?
DSP almost killed me.
