How to Clean a Water Butt

A smelly job that needed doing! Using Jeyes fluid to disinfect my water butts.
Here’s what Jeyes fluid says:
Prevents the build up of slime in water butts.
● Application - Scrub with a solution of 15 ml to 5 litres of water to clean. To freshen
water, add 5 ml Jeyes Fluid to a full water butt.

I use an old kitchen sieve to catch debris/stop it getting into the water butt.

The lid should have no holes in so mozzies and debris can’t get in. Mine has no holes.
