I keep discovering new Queen songs like they're still dropping them
sameee theres too many
@@pearl_cove07 no such thing as too many Queen songs.
Because Queen is magic!❤
Back Chat and Staying Power are pretty dope. The whole Hot Space album is a banger
@@ravenm3511 the song Its a Kind of Magic is also very good!
I know this is on Queen's like most hated album but this song is the grooviest shit and very underrated
This is the first time I listening to it and I love this song
I love this song need to download it!..
The albim wasn't even that bad, it was different from what they were used
@@karlaruiz3616 Exactly. Freddie set out to make a pop album with that signature 80s sound and he totally nailed it. Hot Space is a bad rock album (because it isn't rock) but it's a stellar pop album
@@becklee94 agree! It was supossed to sound completely different, that's the point. Comparing it to other albums is a big mistake.
And it influenced a lot of artists by that time( like MJ) It was an important piece
a song by: John Deacon
at the bass guitar: John Deacon
at the drums: John Deacon
at the guitar: John Deacon
at the keyboards: John Deacon
Manas Sharma John Deacon is playing every instrument in this song. That's why there is not a live version (the different sounds have been virtually unified in a single track) and Roger and Brian appear in the video only in the background
Samuele De Santis I read john played every instrument except electric keyboard ,which was played by Freddie which makes more sense
Samuele De Santis wish they have a video while making this. Would live to see it
Seriously? Deacon on drums in this one? You kidding right?
Sounds like a drum machine to me. Help me out if anybody else out there knows any better.
Soooo underrated song....beautiful voice of Freddie, and that sexy rythm
John: "Fred, can you sing falsetto the whole song?"
Freddie: "Oh dear... Of course!!!"
John: "Ok, let's do it!"
:)
This is precious 😂😂

John:how much falsetto do you want in this s-
freddie: yeS
I read this in their voices lol
This comment is pure, omfg.

This song is criminally underrated
lets keep that way
@@kaseyhe4rts gatekeeping prick
i just discovered it i love it
@@kaseyhe4rts why?
The record itself had two MASSIVE hits; "Another One Bites the Dust" and "Under Pressure" with Bowie, so I guess it makes sense that this one basically just got shoved aside and into obscurity. When I was little, my mom had the "Hot Space" cassette in her car. Back then of course you didn't often skip songs on a tape, so I heard this A LOT, but didn't pay much attention though, honestly, I just liked the aforementioned hits. Well, it'll no longer be underrated; no doubt a whole new generation will be exposed to it and love it because it's all over the TV rn.
I love it when John and Freddie wrote songs together
Annie G Brian said that Freddie would always work extra hard on Deacy's songs because he was insecure about them and Freddie wanted them to be perfect for him
Queen is Love, Queen is Life. And that’s what made Queen work
@@jamie6506 Yes, I read somewhere or heard in a documentary that Freddie would try to do everything for the song to come out exactly the way Deaky wanted it to. A true musician being a friend to another. That's why a Deacury song is, I think, always perfect. 😊
Preach, GUMMY!
Freddie Mercury was John Deacon's "big brother", and best friend, their songs were legendary. They were an amazing double act, like Lennon, and McCartney.
Perfect song while driving on a sunny afternoon. ❤

Never heard this until the Amazon commercial with the girl in the yellow jacket. Music always comes back full circle and touches for generations to come. Music will always have the magic to bring people together. Freddie Mercury sounds so different here. Love the vibe of this song.

"Cool Cat" is one of my favorite songs of Queen. I can't understand why this amazing song didn't reach the number one on the charts back then because is a materpiece.
True!
Because they were late with that kind of genre for about 5 years.

Yeah
I know right, That voice here.... it's like the music literally makes love to your ears
I mean this is the best song of Queen for me. So powerful
I generally don't understand why hot space gets such a bad rep it's an amazing album and a song like this is one of its gems
Because it sounds like a band trying to cash in on something they don't really understand. It is an album made up of songs which would be better-than-average-fillers, but in no way carry the album or come close to being Queen classics. It is not surprise that none of the songs made it to the Greatest Hits compilation - except Under Pressure, which was made in a different context. But of course that makes Cool Cat that hidden gem in Queen's catalogue, so maybe the main merrit of the album is hiding something worth being discovered?
Well las palabras de amor is the lamest Queen song ever. Come on. Except for cool cat and under pressure it is bad. For Queen's standard. For any other artist like nowadays it is a fine album.
@@alessandrozigliani2615 what about body language? It's a good song too

_SEA_BUN_QUEEN_ • totally agree
I agree!!!
100% agree
You are a GENIUS it completely fits the movies aesthetic
Yes! I’m still waiting for any Queen song to appear in a Marvel movie
A legend never dies. The timeless beat and the voice of an angel make this something special. I’m embarrassed to have only known this was Queen from the bloody Amazon commercial.
Same! Had to look it up. Omigoodness...i can hear this joint as someone's personal theme song. No joke. Lol🕊

🤣🤣🤣 that's ok, same here-but I like the commercial. It's like a small homage to Queen.
Your not the only one! I was just at fault!
I don't understand how this one didn't become a major hit, Freddie shows his versatility and great voice in this tune I also love the funky guitar beat by Brian
During their time they didn’t get the recognition they deserved, especially freddie, probably the most gifted musician of his time
That was John Deacon playing guitar - and all other instruments except keyboards. Deaky got SOUL!
Brian isn’t on this track. It’s all deacy on guitar and bass

It's crazy how "Seaside Rendezvous", "Crazy Little Thing Called Love", "I Want it All", and "Cool Cat" were all Queen songs. Incredible range.
And now listen to '39 (Country), Good Company (Dixiland), My Melancholy Blues (Piano Jazz), The Millionaire's Waltz (Waltz), March of the Black Queen (Prog), All God's People (Gospel), Who Needs You (Calypso), Sheer Heart Attack (Punk), Dancer (Funk), Las Palabras de Amor (Latin), It's Late (Blues Rock), the Freddie Mercury's Barcelona Album (Classic, Opera), and some call Stone Cold Crazy the birth of Thrash Metal... :-)
They were very different people
But they worked as a band especially those harmonies!
But their style of song was quite different
The ones you listed were all Freddie
(Cool cat Freddie and john)
though he wrote very different types of songs
Want it all was may
Seaside rendezvous was just Freddie and roger, mainly Freddie
Crazy little thing called love,Freddie made their new producer mack record it before Brian got back knowing hed hate it and wouldn't want it on the album
And he did hate it! But it got to no 2

okay but to be honest, i feel like some people hate on this album because brian doesn’t like it. they think “oh if brian hates it, i should too!” but it’s honestly one of my favourite queen albums because it’s so unique and delves into a different genre they’ve never really messed with before, and they absolutely nail it. so the people who don’t like hot space, should take one more listen to it.
Totally agree!
Very underrated album.
Probably because back in the day people were more closed minded when it comes to music genres.
So rock fans were supposed to hate funk, disco, etc, and since MTV banned the video to the album's lead single BODY LANGUAGE the album stayed under the radar of any audience outside of the Queen fanbase.
(BTW: MTV also banned their next album's lead single I WANT TO BREAK FREE and so basically killed Queen's US career for the rest of the 80's.)
hot space is such a underrated album and i absolutely LOVE it😂😌

Brian and Roger didnt support Freddie on this they decided he wanted a full on disco album and wasn't into that
Roger' sound like you've walked into a gay club I wasn't ok with that'
But he then suggested dressing in drag!?
Which really did finish them off in the us
And Freddie refused to tour America after that
I was a very big Queen fan at that time (born1971)and almost couldnt wait until the record was sold. That's why I was so surprised about the hype, never saw the commercial. Queen is able to play every style they want, 4 songwriters in a 4 men band and all have got different tastes. Not to forget they are able to play the songs even live(better) you recognise the guitar by the first tone and Freddie, well Freddie had the best voice in modern music.
Have a good time!

This is the most hypnotic song I’ve ever heard. On repeat for the past five days. Queen was too good.
Well only half of Queen on this one!
Stupid Brian and Roger, makes me so mad they wouldn’t play. Freddie and Deacy played, “I am In Love With My Car”…Horrible song. Sounds great without them any way. Just shows the talent in those two!

@@nancyblumberg4612 their talent was put to test when they performed Immigrant Song in 1986.
Goes to show that Queen couldnt compete with The Kings.
@@vanplq8841 Ah yes, the incomparable Mr. Robert Plant. So great. Queen really admired Zep. Always hard to sing others songs. Robert singing Innuendo, at Freddie’s tribute concert in 1992, umm, not so good!! But Roger Daltry singing I Want It All at same tribute, awesome. Respect to Robert for being at Freddie’s tribute concert. Redeemed himself with Crazy Little Thing Called Love.
Queen's deeper cuts on their less than popular LPs are still better than most bands' lead singles. A true hidden gem of a song.
Ok the Amazon Prime commercial brought me here I see that commercial so much I finally had to find the song 😊
There are no bad Queen albums - there are just different tastes in music:
Hard rock fans hated the HOT SPACE album, but it inspired Michael Jackson, who really liked it, to THRILLER.
I liked hot space and I'm a hard rock fan
I love Queen. They are deffo the greatest rock band in my opinion. This album is amazing. Very groovy. And I am too a fan of hard rock and still love Queen's disco routes
I listen to almost nothing except progressive and alternate rock, so 80's disco is a really nice change. I had always wanted to listen to hot space for 2 years now but since people kept saying it was bad. A few weeks ago, I was tired of listening to even the not so successful songs, so I searched up 'lesser known queen songs'. And here we are, listening to Hot Space.
I'd say i'm hard rock fan, but in fact i'm heavy/progressive metal fan and i've always enjoyed this song and the album as wel. Come on, guys, there's no bad genres in music, there're just not good enough musicians. Listening to sanctuary then to queensryche and to the cool cat is cool)
WAITTTTTTTTTTT the hotspace album inspired michael jackson to make his thriller album?? i had no idea
My brain cannot comprehend that this is Freddie Mercury singing. He sounds so different in this song in a good way

Damn, what the hell couldn't Freddie Mercury do??!! Had any scientist ever studied his voice, because I'm pretty sure it is most definitely a scientific oddity in the greatest way possible of course!
Actually they did
I know right..... The man literally was a genius 😃👍👍
Already studied a few years ago
he had a few physical deformities that allowed him to have such a spectacular voice
They studied his vocal chords and turns out the man could sing 4 octaves! FOUR BLOODY OCTAVES. Freddie was not of this world. He surpassed all of us mere mortals with his immense talent. Then AIDS came along and that of course ruined everything for a while there, at least until Brian and Roger found Adam Lambert. Thank whatever deity there is or is not for Adam; Freddie would be so proud

Totally agreed with U!
Not the whole band, just half band hated it, Bri and Rog, but they hated Another one bites the dust too, so... Yeah. It's a great album, too modern for music taste at that time. And absolutely, this song is fantastic, the version with Bowie is great.
Nur Khansa one of my personal favorites. But loads of people don’t like it. I think it’s amazing that they experimented with so many different styles, even though the public might not like it
Nur Khansa People blindly hate Hot Space because it was very different than other Queen albums. Does it mean it was a bad album? Well, Michael Jackson himself admitted that Hot Space was a huge inspiration for him when he wrote Thriller album. Just let that sink.
