Fundact: the Munich metro is semi-atc, means, the driver just do the denture procedure and control the doors, driving is utomted, as well for the old cars, b-wagen has been semi atc already. But our Nürnberger g1 is much more futuristic based on the trainface :P
The newest trains are at least 20 years old, amazing (they used to have wooden seats that would blend in at ikea). 6:05 oh, I was wrong, these are the 20 year old trains with wood seats. Amazing!
Germany spends 1,5% of its GDP on infrastrucutre, the US 1,4% and China 5,1% ... For the largest part German infrastructure looks as bad as the US one except for some prestige nonsense like ICE and the infrastructure of some very very strong regions like Munich that pay a large portion of the costs by themself.
@@BLACKSTA361 Idk how its outside London but all the trainstations and subwaystations I went to where a lot cleaner then what Im used to in Munich/ the Munich area and the Munich subway is considert as the cleanest subway of all larger German cities. They might not be on the same level construction whise but they are maintained and cleaned a lot better. You can see even in the video that (except for Graffiti-removal) they generally dont clean and maintain as good as they construct. Not nearly as good.
1:00:35 is more epic the other way around when you are greeted by a maypole, market and curch. That such a little town like Garching has its own subway station is just insane and I think somewhat a model for the far future.
Best subway system in Germany- fast, modern, safe and quite reliable. Followed by Hamburg and Berlin. The rest of the German cities has tramway systems, that drive underground, but are no decent Metro systems.
@@richox695 Yes. They were actually built at the same time and the older trains are the exact same model with small modifications. They have a lot of similarities, only that the Munich system is WAY bigger and the Nuremberg one has newer automated trains.
Your videos would be much more valuable as historical documents if you told us the date when they were filmed. (I think most of them are filmed at weekends. Am I right?)
These „Dead LEDs“ probably aren’t even dead. These trains might have parking lights on. If you visit the station Fröttmaning at night then you see how every subway train has only 1 light switched on in the depot.
Yeah these Lightstrips on the doors definitely need some improvement. I visit Munich regularly and the lights malfunction on every 3rd door (both indoor and outdoor btw.) I hope the next gen trains use a more robust method that doesn't break so easily.
The new trains are very futuristic, the architecture of the stations is very successful, it is the best metro system in Germany.
Especially considering Munich has a population of a bit under 1,5 million and a tram- and S-Bahn Network too
@@twindexxx Yes, Munich is a dense city, with lots of public transport

How are you able to keep the phone so stable without shaking it?
The class C1 sounds a lot like the C341 of the Taipei Metro!
