Kamila Markram on why the Frontiers Planet Prize was created

Speaking at the 2024 Frontiers Planet Prize (FPP) awards ceremony in Villars-sur-Ollon, Switzerland - Dr Kamila Markram, co-founder and CEO Frontiers, and Vice-President of the Frontiers Research Foundation explains why the Frontiers Planet Prize was created and what is the role and responsability of scientists in ensuring healthy, prosperous and safe lives for humanity within the planetary boundaries of our planet.
FPP is a global science competition aiming to recognize and mobilize the most impactful reserach solutions for bringing us back within the safe operating space of our planet.
2024's event, hosted in partnership with the Villars Institute, included interactive community workshops, poster sessions, and intergenerational exchanges with Villars Fellows-high school students from around the world trained in systems leadership. The awards ceremony featured engaging keynotes and panel sessions from thought leaders in transformational science and planetary health.
