This was SO enlightening. I was just thinking the other day about: What is the difference between "color corrector vs concealer and their uses" and voila! You gave us a great tutorial and took the time to explain everything. This is why YOU stand out among all the other makeup channels. You really do teach. Thank you...
You’re so right, Melanie! I feel a little bit of self esteem creeping into my mind every video, it’s really helped me take the time and make the effort in terms of how I *feel* rather than just slapping on products to improve the way I look.
@@rachaelgraceblack also the way she says "ladies" makes me feel more feminine and belonging-to-a-group more so than any club I've ever joined!! I'm thankful I found her.
In my family, we call our black circles ‘allergy scars’. I’ve got the black, grey, green, yellow markings. Thanks to your educational teachings, I’ve been able to cover them better. And today I will be getting an eye primer. I’ve been using my cover up. Keep your videos coming.
I purchased your eye brightener and the eye and lip primer, and just received Just Peachy. All 3 I love, and use each depending on what my skin needs that day as you said. I ditched all other concealers and love the step of color correcting - it makes a big difference!
I have stubbornly, sensitive, oily skin and I am almost 60....make up makes me break out, and if I get too close to my eyes with anything, they burn until I get it off(mascara, eye shadow, moisturizer, sun screen)...I look old and tired(puffy, with dark circles)...this tutorial was literally "eye opening"...I get so much practical and useful info. from you...maybe I will be brave enough one day to look as fresh and dewey as you do....it just seems like such a fight to try this or that, so I just give up...but you are very encouraging and inspirational, keep these awesome videos coming!!...
Excellent tutorial thank u Nikol. Just when I thought I knew it all u come up with more wonderful information. Regardless of age u really teach us ladies how to look our very best.
By the way, I like that you use products outside of your own brand. I just turned fifty and I have had dark circles and gray hair since my early 20s. I am naturally super pale and freckled and I have cross hatch deep wrinkles on my upper cheeks right below my iris. I am certain it is sun damage from childhood because that area is where I always feel the most heat in the summer. I found your color correct advice helpful but I struggle with color correcting with freckles. I don’t want to hide my freckles and so many products are obvious over my freckles. On my deep seat wrinkles, which I have in spots rather than face-wide, I wish there were a legitimate spackle-type product to go into the wrinkles and then I could use my guasha or flat card type of item to “scrape the spackle” to even it out and then finish the makeup. Is there anything out there to fill the wrinkles in that way? Finally, while I have some hyperpigmentation around my freckles, I have a much bigger issue with white, hypopigmented scars from a history of impetigo infections. I have really struggled to cover the hypopigmentation to match most of my true skin tone. I would imagine it is similar to covering vitiligo. Even though my natural skin tone is usually the palest color in a makeup line, the scars are even lighter. Nearly every color corrector or concealer or foundation fails to help with those lighter spots. They remain super obvious. Any suggestions? Pretty please.
for 'spackle' there are scar filling targeted products, usually just a thicker silicone type primer, that used in small areas, could use in bigger areas as well to smooth out the surface, just be careful what products you put on top, silicone based foundation/concealer, oil based, or water based. There is another option to smooth out wrinkles that you smooth onto your wrinkles, whether under eyes, forehead, neck, wherever. This product is going to tighten/stretch its molecular bonds in the formula, to temporarily reduce wrinkles, it probably has skin care in it as well; but the dramatic effects, that you see within seconds is just about how it sits on the skin, and washes off when you wash off your makeup/face. Peter Thomas Roth instant firmx eye or peter thomas roth instant firmx temporary face tightener. If you would like a link, if you have trouble finding the product or want more information (im not a sales associate or anything, just a product knowledge enthusiast lol) just let me know 😉 I also have the issue of, i want to color correct, but not cover my freckles. sometimes a bb or cc cream, or cream foundation in the color correcting color for what you need, those products usually look more skin like, especially after it has settled into your skin, maybe after an hour or so. I also am very fair and have greys since i was 15! your comment stood out to me :)
Thanks for the lesson, I’m 54 and still trying to learn . It gets so frustrating and sometimes I just give up and go no make up at all because it makes it worse . I’ve just been doing moisturizer and sunscreen but I also work outside , always have my wide brimmed hate to help as well . Getting older with wrinkles is a challenge that usually leaves me feeling defeated. I will most definitely give this a try and hope for the best .
I have always been discouraged by the application of too many products merely to “look natural”. However, Nikol breaks through that barrier and simplifies the procedure, thereby encouraging me to actually try! I really enjoy the videos; so relaxing. Thank you!
Nikol🧡 At 56 I do facial massage and Gua Sha every night. I tell my clients every day that massage creates oxygenation of skin cells and therefore collagen. I also love to do facial cupping. When your skin is healthy it is no longer swollen and puffy and the skin adheres to the muscles and looks more defined. 🙌🏻🍑🧡Lisa
I don’t have dark circles under my eyes But Nikol You are a world of knowledge when it comes to applying makeup correctly, I’ve never learnt so much from anyone else, especially for my @62 years young skin and love to wear makeup. Thank You Kindly for all you do here teaching us REAL MATURE BEAUTIES. Best Wishes and Kindness from Queensland Australia 🇦🇺❤️❤️❤️
Hi Nikol! Great information, as always! I do have two questions. Are you completely cleansing the face BEFORE the ritual you demonstrated or applying some product as to not strip the hydration from the nightly regime? Are you using a moisturizer and primer on your face before applying the color corrector and/or concealer and the rest of your foundation, etc?? Thank you!
LOVE, LOVE, LOVE DERMACOL foundation as under eye cover, THIN and full coverage, barely a smidge and it looks natural when on and i've tried EVERYTHING.
I really enjoyed this video because I am 75 and the worst problem I have is around the eye area. Darkness on upper eyes and red and blue veins on upper and lower eyes. I have every color corrector and concealers that you have in your studio and still experimenting with using these. Thank you for all of the videos to teach us what to do. I think you are great and beautiful.
Ever since I bought your excellent eye primer, I don't need to use my yellow color corrector on inner eye corners to hide blue-gray shadows, and no need for my green color corrector to hide redness on eyelids. Even with color correctors, concealer on top didn't prevent 'bleed through' of redness and blue shadows. Your eye primer is a game changer!
Have you done any manicure videos? I love your wide shot orange manicure and your close up cream manicures. I have eggshell nails and have only been able to grow them with gels or polygel polish. I am just learning about poly gel and I struggle with it being too thick in the tubes and I have been trepidations to warm it to thin it out. I have enjoyed being able to put polygel on my nails, without extending them, to provide a type of scaffolding for my weak nails on which to attach. I feel like there is so much more I could do with polygels at home and I was wondering if you do your own nails.
Hi I took off the dip in February and haven’t looked back. I do my own nails and have since I was in high school. I enjoy the ritual and switching up the color every 4-7 days if I feel like it. I do have a couple manicure videos but I will be updating my nail routine in a video soon. I feel free now that I am not doing dip or gel and not having to go to a salon. That removal process was just unpleasant. My nails look so much better.
@@NikolJohnson thank you so much for replying. I agree that the suggested removal process is not very pleasant and while acetone is very effective for its original purpose, it leaves my nails feeling even more fragile and dehydrated than before. With my eggshell nails, I have such dry skin in 5e sides of my nails that acetone amplifies. I have started using coconut oil after the acetone and I like how that seems to rehydrate my skin and nails without feeling greasy. I know a lot of people use coconut oil in their hair and, sometimes!on their face. Do you use coconut oil as part of your skin/hair/face/etc. routine?
My biggest problem is allergies. I have a Temperpedic bed and sleep with my head raised, bought the ice globes the last time I watched and that does help. I use Lumify because allergies make my eyes red. Love the color corrector, because it brightens and I hate heaviness under my eye. I have learned so much watching you & will keep coming back. It's like free classes!
A huge thank you Nikol for your incredible videos and educating me at my "advanced age" LOL The BIG TY is for another video tip-- eyeshadow application using the brush by ROLLING it in the eyeshadow instead of sticking the end of the brush straight down! for 50 yrs Ive been doing it wrong! ROFL . U made a difference in my life, Lady!!🤣😂👁
But now how do I put on foundation so it doesn't just undo the concealer and color corrector? Especially the color corrector? I've given up on it because it just doesn't stay when I put foundation on. I know about using blender sponges now, so I imagine that would help, but I would like to see how to apply foundation over correctors and concealers.
Thank you! I want to order a couple things but I’m not sure which would be best for me. I am half Italian, so I have olive skin. I wondered would the warm pot of concealer or the cool be better? Can you please advise ? Thank you kindly.
THANK YOU. I have pale skin and a blue vein under my left eye that is noticeable. I went to Sephora for assistance and was told to use the concealer Shape Tape. I could still see the vein and I was very self-conscious about it. I was never told about using peach to correct. This information has been so useful ❤
Ironically, my dark under eyes are lighter than when I was younger. But, I struggled with that area for years. I’ve started using a color corrector, under a concealer, under a little brightener. I guess being over 40 has made me more self conscious about that area. Lol
OH thank you! Finally an expert who truly understands mature skin… and Nikol products look so beautiful ~ now I’m confident with what products + steps to use (concealer on eyelids; guilty 🙄) LOVE your tutorials ✨🥰🥂
Hi Nicole ! What a great video . I am 58 and have suffered from dark cirlces most of my life . Its hereditary . This was such a big help . Have a great week xoxoxo
This has been sooo helpful. I know you’ve done a video similar to this bro, but there’s times I still need help with what to do when. Beautiful beautiful video! Thanks so much!👌
Nikol- I love your channel and your attitude towards life and beauty. I have been waiting to get your eye primer forever- it’s always out of stock. Help!!
Nikol, I never really thought about color corrector and concealer that way! It makes sense to me! Thank you for teaching us to be our best! Thanks for sharing your knowledge with us! Can’t wait to try it out and see a difference.
Thank you for this information. I so much enjoy watching your videos. You have lifted my beauty routine (or lack there of) and I feel so much better about myself. You are a gem!
Hi, since you aren't shipping your products to Europe, yet, could you recommend a product that compares to your "concealer trio" and your "eye primer", thank you!
Another great educational video, Nikol. Concealer is a struggle for me and I have so many in my collection. I will be purchasing your Peachy color corrector because not correcting the darkness under my eyes has been my problem with the concealers not working.
Question about your brand of correctors & concealers…are they free of parabens and toxic ingredients? I really want to try them, but I need a super clean product. Thanks for your help!
Do I need to do full makeup if using these eye techniques? I like a natural every day look which just improves dark circles, then a little eye make-up. Thanks
I just want to thank you for your honest and educational videos. Can you tell me where I can purchase your products keeping in mind I live in Canada. Thanks again
Another fun video for me to watch while I hand quilt! I hope you have a peaceful week ahead! I have been busy filming for our channel. I just want you to know that I very much enjoy your content. Thank you for sharing this video and for your expertise.
Such as excellent and informative video. I admit, these have confused me. The inner corners of my eyes are often very dark, I’ve been using the wrong products! Thank you so much. I’m sure I will refer to this video frequently. Do need to purchase your color correctors, too 🥰
Hi Nikol, when do you start shipping your products to Australia? I'm make-up phobic: I think I look worse when I put make-up on --I may look more 'dressy' but not better! So, I watch your videos and pick out some nice everyday looks/routines but can't get the products in Australia. I know I could find substitutes ... but I don't need additional barriers, trust me! Love your videos!
People might also want to do the under eye color correction after they apply their eyeshadow if they like to do the “messy application then cleanup” process! 😉 Thanks for the great tips!
Nicole, I bought your eye/lip primer. It is sooo yellow. Unusable for my light olive skin. Please make one in a cooler/neutral shade. Very informative vid. Thx
I actually feel i look better with corrector alone . Sometimes when i put concealer over the effect kinda dissapear . Kan you sett a primer with powder ?
Very grateful for this episode but I wanted to see you apply foundation to see how it all blended and if you feel like you have a ton of makeup on your face. It feels too heavy to me. Love your videos and watch and research you daily.
Love your videos, but what if you don't want to use foundation every day but want to neutralize dark circles...everything I have used seems to disappear. I am between cool and warm so what do you suggest? Buy both?
I bough a green color corrector in a Tube with a brush end. I have red under my eye at the lash line and on the lid at the lash line plus always red cheeks this green corrector is very bright can I mix it with concealer, brighter or foundation?
I am really puzzled by all the vigorous facial massage these days. It wasn’t that many years ago that you were discouraged from massaging the skin because it would stretch your skin out. Now there’s skin gym where they almost beat you up.
Educational not just hacks; absolutely useful! Love! Thank you!

It’s challenging to color correct the under eye with tan skin. Peach can be too light and orange too dark, affecting the final appearance of concealer

Hi! I appreciate seeing you closer to the camera
I'm 54 with a crazy dry and flaky T-zone. Green color corrector erases the red 🎯 between my eyebrows. That stuff is a godsend!
Wonderful instructions that even I can follow! Thank you.

Hi . Would you please tell me what color corrector I can use for dark spots around the eyes. Thank you.
Question about your brand of correctors & concealers…are they free of parabens and toxic ingredients? I really want to try them, but I need a super clean product. Thanks for your help!
Thanks for the great information .....i agree some do lie about some product .
Excellent tutorial!
Very informative and helpful information! As a 62 year old, I find that I do have these issues to address now. Thanks!

Hi Nikol. Another great video!! Is there anything on the face prior to the ice globes??
Nikol, thank you for all of the wonderful information! ❤️
So interesting thank you.
What can you recommend for people on a budget the must haves to make yourself look good every day?
If not for you color corrector advice I would of never figure out why my concealer never truly cover my dark eye circles thanks you are truly talented
Hi again. Would your products help with someone who has a tan complication or olive skin.
Really informative, helpful video.
Very informative, thanks!
Can you use lite pressure with your hands instead of the Gua. I put moisturizer on and then use the same technique
Can you do something on the under eye creases (not the crows feet) & deep tear troughs... How to camouflage them? I guess micro reverse countouring?
I just want to thank you for your honest and educational videos. Can you tell me where I can purchase your products keeping in mind I live in Canada. Thanks again

Very informative video! I've been wanting to try the Gun Sha. I was born with brownish under-eye circles (yay me!) which corrector would be best?
Thanks for all the info.
Love your videos, but what if you don't want to use foundation every day but want to neutralize dark circles...everything I have used seems to disappear. I am between cool and warm so what do you suggest? Buy both?
Can you use your Just Peachy Color Corrector on the lids of your eyes if you have darkness on the eyelids?
No you would use the Eye Primer
you always have good advice
What’s the difference between color corrector and concealer?
Please go to my video library I have a video dedicated to this topic
Love your tutorials 👏
Do you ship your products to Australia please ?
I bough a green color corrector in a Tube with a brush end. I have red under my eye at the lash line and on the lid at the lash line plus always red cheeks this green corrector is very bright can I mix it with concealer, brighter or foundation?
What color corrector can I use for brown sun spots?
You do concealer before you put your foundation on? I thought concealer goes on after foundation?
I am really puzzled by all the vigorous facial massage these days. It wasn’t that many years ago that you were discouraged from massaging the skin because it would stretch your skin out. Now there’s skin gym where they almost beat you up.
…oh and I do wish you’d taken the look to foundation ~ off to find your next video 😎💕✨
Great video.
