This will be my main and only computer for photo and video editing so I’ve gone for the 16”. Although it is larger and heavier, you do have some advantages when travelling such as a larger screen when you don’t have access to an external monitor and the better battery life. Went for the M2 Max with 64GB RAM and 4TB SSD. It should last me a good few years!
How are you liking your m2 max for video editing/performance wise? Specifically for premiere. Any timeline playback issues. Smooth nonchoppy Timeline playback is more important then exports times.
Just ordered my 16 inch M2 Max with 96 unified memory. I really hope this is overkill because my current 2019 intel MacBook Pro just can’t keep up. Runs sooooo hot.
@@shotbybayo runs so smooth! My 2019 would run hot when running zoom, chrome, and other applications. Plus it’d drain the battery. I do all that now (plus some gaming) and not only is it cool but even at its height of use, the battery says “no applications using significant power” or whatever the exact phrase is. So yes, at least for me the 96 unified memory is a godsend. Overkill? Maybe. But so worth it in my opinion and situation. If you work from home it’s a must.
@@TheChrome2YourDome I just got mine in 96 unified with 8 tb internal storage. I get the using significant battery since I’m a video editor and run premiere pro to edit music videos and all bunch of stuff I notice the editing takes up a significant amount of battery. I can still run it for relatively all day but probably need to charge up again once in the same day
I just love my m1 MacBook Pro with my beloved Touch Bar which I will miss a lot the day I leave this Mac behind and get a new one... I just found this option very useful and a massive productive bar
I absolutely love my M1 MacBook Air. I have a Surface Laptop 3 for work and it's inferior in every way except for having a touchscreen (which I barely use).
You know you're downright *CORRECT* about that touchscreen!! I *DO NOT* understand why tech reviewers and website journalist prominently shouts on the *TOP* of their lungs about touchscreens on the Mac. 1. It's counterintuitive, why move your finger on the screen to "touch" an interface when you can naturally move from the keyboard to the massive touchpad anyway. It's an additional gesture that,....adds fatigue for the rest of the day. 2. Costs: MacBooks especially the Pro ones are *OBSCENELY* expensive already when you factor in the Silicons and the storage why add some USELESS feature to manufacturing costs. 3. Reliability/Durability: has anyone checked up on those X series Asus gears and that ergo lift thingie. Did anyone checked/reviewed those gear after 3 months like this guy did on this Mac? I know of someone who is using an Asus business class gear and the ergo lift hinge broke after a year and a half mark. So Apple please, please *DO NOT* listen to those clowns who's feeding their ego who claims to know better about designing hardware when apparently they are *NOT* qualified enough. 🤷🏻♂️🤷🏻♂️
Will Apple ever implement a 10-key numeric pad on their keyboard? I crunch numbers a lot and could benefit using a keyboard with one. I know I can get an adapter for one, but it’s uncomfortable using something separate.
have to say, 64gb for production use is the minimum memory. I have Figma, 8 tabs open, Photoshop and discord open. This is like my usual, maybe not Photoshop, maybe spotify. But this sometimes drops to 11gb free. Which seems low. I want CaptureOne, or something. Or maybe 2-3 Figma files open. I don't want ANY slowdown. That's why I pay this much for this thing. Memory peace of mind.
Technically, you could save money by only having 2 MacBook setups. The M2 MacBook Air for light travel and moving around the house, and the Mac Studio with a Dell 4k 27-inch monitor for an intense work home setup.
I'm selling my M1 Air to get a used 16" m2 max as my workstation and travel computer. The appeal here is when I grab my max to leave the house it's the same settings and files; congruency is going to be nice for once. My old 3080 5950x workstation is going to my TV as a gaming/render farm computer, might run some virtual machines as well for giggles.
i have the 14" MBP m1 pro base. I tried the 16" m1 max mbp, but dang the weight is a big deal for me. I gave up on my 16" and went to the lovely 14". All i can say is that the battery life on the 16" is a wow factor.
This computer has so many issues. Weird specific things. Let yours completely drain of power. Then try to play it through an HDMI cable to a television. Once your sound output is put to the TV, the video skips and goes into super fast forward mode. You have to reset it for it to work again. I was passed around to three different "supervisors" who basically gaslit me and said this wasn't happening even though I have a video of EVERYTHING.
I love it, im an android head now I can see the clarity on platforms through the macbook pro 16 inch man God is good God bless all just wanted to share that.
I agree with all this… BUT how can you not hate the keyboard? Flimsy and lightweight… zero confidence in its long-term (possibly shorter) use. Sucks especially given the price. But if you have the luxery of powering through a lot of machines, that might fly over your head. Its an impressive machine, so when there´s a basic and central design oversight, its pretty annoying and it reeks of greed.
i used imac 24 inch for a month with upg ram and im happy with it but it still came with one flaw, not enough performance for gaming, while it is overkill and everyone says it is a waste, i will get m2 max macbook pro 16'2 for gaming dedicated, yes i do own a pc i used previously for games but i hate windows unreliable and annoying sistem can run all games but honestly idc about all games, mainly stacraft 2, dying light 1 and posibily 2 and tomb raider, maybe eventually ill find more for now that's what i got purchased, im not gonna ditch my imac 24 or macbook pro i will get but i will be reducing the use of one them them alot, if macbook pro is good enough for daily tasks ill be using that and imac 24 just for movies, but that still does depend on how well i can do on it it is a waste not to make use of the mini-led tehnology 120hz and power mode for processor on macbook pro
I got back into watching your channel again. I forgot how much I enjoy learning from them. I am a ways off from needing an adequate laptop but am much interested in the Air and an m2 Mac mini combo. ❤
If you apply for a local community college and are in the DOR program and if you’re in certain classes that require like 4K editing they will give you one for free if your teacher writes off on it
Trash - Macs used to ''Think Different''. 16" ? forget about it. Remember the 19" or 21" Notebooks ? That's what Mac 'Creative' needs, with 8K HDR display. Be Better than the Best, that's the Apple way...
This laptop is a piece of junk. Corrupted my hard drive within 5 hours of using it brand new out the box from Apple. Is not as advertised. Is not fast. Arguably slower than my MacBook 2015? Not sure how. “Once you go mac you’ll never go back” im switching to windows after 12 years. Unreliable, waste of money, frustrating. Save yourself!
Awesome Episode MJ!! ❤ As always 😁 I've always been an intel/Microsoft/Android user/builder lol. But your videos make me want to sin and submit to the bitten fruit of forbidden knowledge 🫣

Which M2 version and how much RAM would you recommend for Adobe Illustrator AND Twitch Streaming?
Will Apple ever implement a 10-key numeric pad on their keyboard? I crunch numbers a lot and could benefit using a keyboard with one. I know I can get an adapter for one, but it’s uncomfortable using something separate.
No. Apple's target audience is content creators and they do not need a numpad.
Crazy how it has to be one or the other. Give us the touch bar and the function keys.

also the 16" developed a squick sound when picked up with just one hand. The cover at the bottom is thin af
Agreed agreed agreed! 💯

Hello, May i know where we can get that wallpaper?
Anyone using Adobe Premiere Pro? Are there any issues on 4k.

Time for you to get that 15 inch MBA :)
Love my MacBook Pro 16” M2 Max, but I wish they kept the touch bar. It was much more functional and intuitive than hard function keys.
yes i wish it was an option for upgrading at least
Excellent 🎉
It would be a miracle If I comment and Someone deliver a MacBook pro m2 max.
