18 Holes at Cradoc Golf Club. Every shot from my round with stunning Brecon Beacon views.

Every shot from my round at Cradoc Golf Club near Brecon, Powys, on 9th May 2024.
A couple of warm days weather were forecast and I'd managed to arrange my work commitments favourably so I wasn't going to lose the opportunity to get golfing!
I arrived at Cradoc at about 7:45 and after a brief chat in the pro shop I was off before 8. The perfect spring morning with hardly a breeze, a warming sun and the course more or less to myself.
The course is very well laid out with natural progression between the well signposted holes. There are no really scary or unfair holes, although accuracy off the tee is required on most of them to allow clear access to the greens for your approach shots. There is a reasonable amount of elevation change, but with only a few tough uphill climbs, the majority being fairly friendly to your legs and lungs!
With the elevation changes, the views naturally come into play and what views they are. Views towards the Brecon Beacons and Pen Y Fan to the south are a standout feature of Cradoc and the course itself is situated within the old estate grounds of Penoyre House with its collection of many introduced mature trees dotted around the grounds which add to the look and feel of the course.
Plenty of great wildlife around too with lots of great #birdsong including my first Redstart and Garden Warbler of the year along with many other common species in abundance.
I played well today with only two poor holes and even managed a chip in that saved a few blushes.
I'd heard good things about Cradoc beforehand and that was confirmed after my visit which I thoroughly enjoyed all the way round. Yes, it might be a little out of the way for many folks but it's more than worth it, as another visiting golfer I chatted to on the way round fully agreed.
