Something is amiss with the menfolk in this classic 1950s sci-fi thriller. A distraught Marge Farrell (Gloria Talbott, We're No Angels) is growing increasingly alarmed over the changes in her new husband Bill (Tom Tryon, The Cardinal), who's been acting strangely ever since their wedding night. And for good reason: Bill - and most of the men in their small town - have been taken over by sinister aliens who have arrived on planet Earth to marry human women with the hope of reviving their dying race. Marge has stumbled onto their terrifying plan and must now convince someone - anyone - to believe her ... before the aliens completely inhabit the bodies of the entire male population!

Seeing this is like being reunited with an old family friend. I grew up with photos from this movie published in "Famous Monsters" magazine throughout the 1970s. Finally in the early '80s, it turned up on WXON TV20 on their Saturday afternoon thriller spot. For the next ten years, I watched it every time they showed it, which was often. Around 1993 I purchased the VHS of it at Blockbuster for the outrageous price of $50, which would be like $100 in today's money. Then my life changed, I had less time, gave away my VHS collection and haven't seen this in many, many years. My family are all gone now, but looking at these scenes it's like going back 40 years to those carefree Saturday afternoons when I'd watch this in our warm old family house, also long gone. Those were wonderful years, and I miss them terribly. This film brings it all back.

Definitely considering a purchase of this. My Auntie Gloria portrayed the character of Marge, and thereby the flick holds a special, nostalgic place for moi. The horror genre is one of my particular fave's.

Why, your Aunt is the lead actress!
Poor, 'Marge' - who's passionate dreams of perfect romance turned into a living nightmare!..A terrifying, flesh-crawling, nightmare - of having nothing but, some..."kind", of children!!..

Why did she stopped acting after 1966? I mean she was in so many western movies/series and horror flicks etc. Yet she stopped working as an actress all of the sudden in 66..

Her second marriage was a disaster and the divorce had embittered her, she making certain as to not be taken advantage of ever again through her earnings; she became pregnant (via the third marriage) and wanted to insure of raising her daughter w/ adequate parental attention; but primarily that she wouldn't burn-out by constantly and overly driving and striving to achieve in show-biz.
