Exploring the Ancient Cave Dwellings of Zungri Calabria Italy - A quick day trip from Tropea

We take a drive through the beautiful Calabrian countryside to Zungri. We explore an ancient unique rock cave settlement of approximately 100 homes or silos. It was established between the 6th and 7th centuries when the Basilian monks fled from the east to escape persecution and found refuge in the area of Monte Poro.
