Paul, just a thought: if your company made a pair of active speakers with an active crossover to help adjust the frequency response for any room, it may not be a leap to do something similar for on-wall type speakers that could be used for main stereo or even surround speakers.
Hi Paul, long time follower 1st time to post. You have always said you didn’t want to gwt into Home Theater but you did mention in a video that you may do a center channel speaker in your aspen series. Are yiu still thinking about it or made a firm decision one way or another? Once you finish the FR5 it seems to be the piece needed for a surround speaker system.
Hi Paul. A market opportunity seems to be something I'll call the Sprout Power Amp. Price it similarly to the Sprout 100. This would allow customers to "bring their own" preamp. I'm mainly thinking of those who like tube preamps, but would enjoy the impressive design of your solid state power amps (like Stellar S300)
one thing you might want to concentrate what really is not in the market is all in one system, but with a single speaker in the middle with multiple drivers, you can get a better stereo image by just having a single unit in the centre and not having two separate speakers. as a life choice and as a music enthusiast that could be a winner. make it DSP with a widening control knob so you adjust for size of room. a live feedback from the room operating its control in the bass and widening characteristics for good synergy. let me know and I'll try the prototype when you made it I give you an honest opinion😊 put a CD player in a streamer 2 auxiliary and phono input switchable between MM and MC automatic gain control and loading for the cartridges

Home theater, I am so not interested in it that I barely conciser it an audio product. I also think we have been sold short with this question. Though not specified, I would preferred to know which 2 channel component is on that list. The turntable comes to mind, but who knows.
Theoretically you could set up a Dolby Atmos installation with three FR10s (sides and center) and eight FR5s plus one or two subwoofers. Of course you'll need a processor and amps from a 3rd party provider plus a wagonload of money. 😉 (I'm pretty sure that this would not only support home theater but also Atmos music formats.)
A ‘lifestyle’ speaker could be a good idea if only to get the PS Audio brand name to a much wider audience. Get it made in the far east to a quality equivalent to say JBL’s offerings with the sole purpose of creating a large user base just ripe for educating and upgrading to your high end products.
I wonder if anyone has considered tried using hifi tube amps along with instruments in the recording studio for mixing and mastering in the studio. I was just curious how the results would be end up being like since most music nowadays are recorded digitally. I miss when the majority of music was recorded with analog reel to reel tapes compared to digital nowadays. I miss analog more than digital. I find the warmth of analog enjoyable to listen to without being too fatiguing compared to the modern era of digitally recorded music. It's why I still buy cassette tapes even though I still buy cds since cds are still coming out and I don't have much storage space to store vinyl records. For listening to music I stopped using any form of equalizers. I'm not a fan of mqa due to being proprietary and not being real lossless audio and no dsp since it alters the music in ways that it always remind me of anything related to bose. I prefer having music mixed and mastered in a well treated room and using crossovers over any form of dsp. I really enjoy 2 channel stereo and being able to hear the flaws when listening to any form audio from a pair of studio monitors and with well recorded mixes, it's immersive similar to watching movies in a 4k imax theater.

Making a relevant surround sound processor is nearly impossible for small specialist manufacturers. First you have to deal with handling video which most are not equipped to deal with, and the technical formats and requirements for the audio change too quickly, and by the time a smaller company can get a product to market it’s often already obsolete

I'm a bit puzzled why there are so much of the market with people not able to have a separate home theatre room and few companies think about combining the best in audiophile stereo with the best in surround using the same stereo speakers and perhaps more compact speakers of the same series for the surround and center speakers. Why wouldn't I want the Aspen FR30 as my surround left and right front speakers and run them in stereo mode for music? Perhaps PS Audio could allow their pre-amp in an auto input-switch mode where the surround receiver L/R output would be selected if there was a signal on the "surround input RCA connectors". In this way PS Audio would have to do almost nothing except the extra RCA input for playing nicely with a surround system in the same room and seamlessly co-exist.
