I opened my ( previously wet & now malfunctioning ) TCM cover & found that the SMD Tantalum capacitors leads were corroded thru, as well as some corrosion on the SMD cylinder shaped resistors soldering. I'm figuring that maybe if those Tantalum capacitors are replaced, some soldering redone, it might fix it. OR, removing the main SMD chips & putting them into another near identical part # safe TCM that hasn't got wet. And then mounting the TCM under the seat instead. I will post here once I have tried it out. Part # 8D0927156H '98 2.8 Quattro, no tiptronic or traction control. If somebody can find this part for me, I'd appreciate it.
I have an 04 Audi TT 1.8t and out a used “programmed” ecu in because the other one was bad. Now I’m getting a code saying tcm wrong software version, and the car goes into limp mode when I try driving it. How can I fix this?
I just did a engine swap on my Audi A6 Quattro 3.0 2003 before changing the engine out the car ran good now that we changed the engine out the car won’t move after when changing the to R, D, and S all the lights are lite up. Can this be a bad TCM? I have a bunch of random transmission codes now the car won’t move at all please help?????

Hi, my 2004 Audi 3L CVT cabriolet flashes its reverse lights when it is not reversing. No any other problems like warning lights or lack of power. Can you please give me an idea about this? My friend told me that I will have to change my reverse light switch. If so, where is that switch location? Thank you very much.
This I have not encountered, as I do not work on this type of issues. However, brake light switches are normally somewhere by the brake pedal on most vehicles. However, you would have to go to a mechanic that handles brake issues, mostly electrical issues.
hey mate My 2005 Audi A4 2005 EPC light on when key turned to ignition turns off same thing you explain with lights and gear box but 15min into driving limp mode comes on and off and stays on till the next day drives fine does it again , I also have a Transmission temperature sensor reading on computer.... could you send me In the right direction .also a small oil leak but no oil warning lights and damp around under dash area
Sir i have skoda laura automatic l&k 2007 model, problem is when drive the above 110 km with few min car is out power and slow down near for 1 min then runs fine . nobody is able find the problem by scanning also, please advice
This vehicle I am not familiar with. However, it seems like it is made by volkwagon. This is a problems that has to be brought to a shop to be diagnosed.
I have to Replace the neutral safety switch in my 2003 3.0L A4 B6 Quatro. Code was p0706 (faulty neutral safety switch) Similar problem but i dont think its the TCM or the Transmission itself. Car operates fine if i go from Park to Drive. ONLY GIVES AN ISSUE IN REVERSE. Car goes into limp mode but i can put the car in PARK turn it off and restart to go to DRIVE out of limp mode. I have had the REVERSE work at times in wet conditions which tells me water has gotten into the neutral safety switch and needs replacement. You can try to replace the neutral switch to see is you problem goes away. It would probably be the quick and easy way. If it does not work, then you know that the problem is more involved.

Check the neutral safety switch (range sensor) first

I cannot tell you what the problem is on this. This would have to be visibly inspected.

The direction is to have a scanner put on the vehicle to see what the vehicle's onboard computer is trying to say. Then go from there.

You need to take it to a shop to have the vehicle scan for codes. This is the first step.
