Ye Gods! I'm hooked! Again, has Aavak seduced my inner gamer with shiny things and effortless gameplay. Anything seems oh so easy in Aavak's hands! OUR AAVAK GREAT! OUR TALENTED GREAT! OUR AAVAK GREAT!
Heyo! Firstly I'd like to say: I hope everyone has some great holidays! I'd say both the 30 min videos as well as the 1 hour and 30 min videos are enjoyable to watch, you're very entertaining! Even I can't watch the hour and a half video in one go, I still fully watch it eventually, so keep them coming if you're liking making them! You basically upgraded yourself from a series episode to a small film, which I approve! Edit: Oh my god so many typos, lemme just fix that 😅
I've definitely gravitated towards your content because it's long form, so I would be biased in my opinion somewhat, but you've basically asked your audience what is our content bias so there you go. I feel you are better suited for long form gaming content due to your methodic approach and tendency to analyze, as well the games you tend to play for videos (and I assume that's also your personal preference) usually require some explaining. You'd either need to change one of those things, or you would risk the video becoming harder to follow and/or have to more heavily edit them. It's not *necessary* a bad thing, since there are a lot of shorter form gaming video creators and they do quite well, but that's not my exact kind of tea. As I already said, you're playing games that I feel aren't usually well suited to 20 minutes videos (and 30 may be a stretch, depending on editing), and those games often fit my tastes better. I'm also not exposed to those games from other gaming youtubers I'm watching, which is definitely a plus in my book. I prefer longer form content so I don't need to constantly change videos on the second monitor and can focus on doing stuff on my primary monitor, and with the way you're explaining what you're doing and avoiding cuts (or at least announcing them) I can follow what's happening without focusing too much. I am though a representative of kind of a niche audience that you've cultivated over the years. It's like if you asked a pixelart artists community if they like pixelart. You might get a tiiiiny biiiiit skewed results there.
The St Algorithmus Dungeon Experience TM would like to thank the creator for aiding in the improvement of NPC effectiveness, and by extension our inevitable world domination. Congratulations on your complimentary skill tree bonuses!
Hiya!! Loved this vid and just also wanna say that imo the 1hr 30m vids are kinda a great length! You can start to get into the actual of meat of the games you're showing off, and it doesnt feel like its just a sort of "highlight reel" that some other letsplays feel like if that makes sense? Its really nice being able to just sit and watch these vids, theyre absolutely lovely and I'm glad I stumbled upon this channel somewhat recently!
What a great game, and loving the Gameboy aesthetic vibe. Would be great to see more, don't mind the long form but conscious the algorithm can be harsh. Oh and Merry Christmas too!
I think you've cultivated an audience that greatly enjoys longform at this point. I personally love the long form content. Also this looks like an excellent stream game.
Another wonderful first taste from Aavak! Thank you my friend, I greatly enjoyed this. Slightly biased as I've always preferred longer videos but I have really been enjoying the hour and a half hahaha
Personally I'd happily watch a shorter video just as easily as a longer one, but honestly the half hour episodes almost feel too short, given the loving detail you generally apply to showcasing, well, pretty much anything. Not to mention you have a very soothing voice that I also definitely enjoy listening to, so in that respect longer is better.
I don't have the strongest feelings about the length of videos in general, provided the video length is correct for what's in the video. If the right length for the material is half an hour, then a half hour video is good. If the right length is four hours, then four hours is good. I watched a four hour video essay/analysis video yesterday, and it was time well spent. Cutting or padding to reach some hypothetical ideal length is meh, especially given how many people have youtube on a second monitor/device or playing in the background
As someone who has to much time on their hands and likes to stare at moving pictures.. i rarely watch vids that are just 30min with no playlist. Wen i watch something give me atleast a hour, that is what got me so hookt on your channel.
I think it depends on what type of game being played. In the case of Dungeon Keeper or Stardew Valley a 30ish minutes video is fine because you get a few days of progress each time. When showcasing a new indie/rogue-something game I prefer the immersion of a few runs, and seeing the meta progression take effect, so 1 to 1½ hour videos seems to hit the spot. Also thank you for all the great content.
i personally feel like a 90 minutes for a video is not a bad length as a treat. It's definitely the correct length for first taste where you don't really want to edit too much down and so you can have a much more comprehensive first taste. however, for a more regular content like the rimworld for example, i feel like 90 minutes is quite long, especially for a 2 video per week kind of schedule, i do personally feel like it's so long that i don't have time to keep up with the series. i would personally prefer a 45-60minute long rimworld episode rather than 90-120 minute long rimworld episode. or maybe (if it's not too much work) a recap version of the video every 5 video or so?
more is good that being said when im working i can only get away with 1-2 hours to watch so 1 hour seems like it might be best even if more then that is still good
I would rather a longer video I can watch as I please (as a gamer its good to be able to take a break while playing and long videos are great for that) having short videos that leave you wanting more but having to wait feels horrid. Having all that said you do whats right for you love the videos thank you for being you.
An hr and a half Aavak video on a good game? Yes please!
The more Aavak the better! Hour and a half is amazing!
Our Character Talented!
Also: Your videos are never too long! Neither are they too short. They have precisely the right length.
This comment made me chuckle :)
@TheRedBrain I agree with both statements here @Aavak.
They do have precisely the right length, and I, too, find the statement humorous.
From my d&d days, I would straitway click the magic missile button
lol
I'm personally a big fan of long videos. 1.5 hours is great, imo.
Thanks for sharing a new fun game :)

haha, a small film, I guess it kinda is that long now I think about it XD

Merry Christmas, Aavak! I prefer longer episodes, so I think they are perfect.

I'd never pad (honestly wouldn't know how XD), but cutting is something I'd look into if folk felt that 1:30 was too long.
90min videos are quite typical aavak content. If the content is interesting, people will watch 👍
For St. Algorithms!
Art style really makes me thing of Journey of the Prairie King.

For St. Algoritmus... also take a look at Idle Colony game has some gnorp apologue vibes
I quite like to longer videos.
Having seen others play, the classes are very distinct in how they play.
I like long videos better. But if you do a series, that I would like, I think a video for each run seems to be the best.
I think you do lose the streak if you get hit? Or it gets reduced or something, it happened a few times in the wizard run.

Excellent
2:40 i think the fire symbol is damage reason: fireball says it does 10 damage the fire symbol is 10 and cyclone says it does 4 the fire symbol is 4
Am I hallucinating, or do the tones that play when you take the traits play the Lavender Town theme?
Comment for the gods
more is good that being said when im working i can only get away with 1-2 hours to watch so 1 hour seems like it might be best even if more then that is still good
I prefer under an hour long videos
Only 1.5 hour? Too short!
