I have been enjoying your "Breakfast soapboxes". It's encouraging to see the way you use scriptures to support the points you make. The scriptures you choose are applicable. :-)
Nice vid. I appreciate it. I left the organisation last year. I haven't been disfellowshipped to my knowledge. I just stopped going to meetings and false rumours started to develop etc. There are quite a few scriptural issues I brought up with some elders and the response I got with most of them was a bit of a wake-up call for me and I was so down-heartened. I have much to talk about in regards to something very similar that your video was all about. My very first crack in the dam was about the "you must make a dedication to Jehovah before you get baptised" doctrine. This doctrine is unscriptural. The organisation says this is a requirement before getting baptised. They merge it together with baptism. Baptism is not about making some dedication to God. Baptism is all about forgiveness of sins on behalf of what Jesus did for us and repenting and dying to an old course of life and being born into a new one with Christ. Requesting a good conscience towards God as well. Please bear in mind, there is nothing wrong with dedicating yourself to God or anything else for that matter as long as it's good. After all, Jesus and Jehovah admonish us to do that, but that is not the point. Baptism is not about making some dedication vow to God. Jehovah doesn't ask us to do that in the bible, especially relating to baptism. Please check out perimeno.ca. He explains it a lot better than I could ever do, and with many scriptures to back it up
I agree! When reading the book of Acts, nothing is said about first dedicating yourself to God before baptism. It's just "Believe in Jesus and get saved." Then they baptized in water.
Bubble Star Yep, all through the book of Acts. Nothing mentioned about first making a “Dedication” to God. This was the first doctrine that woke me up. Some important scriptures touch on disowning ourselves and to follow Jesus but we learn to do this on our own personal journey, not by making some “ Dedication vow” before getting baptised. Another example of going beyond the things written I’m afraid
@@grantknott It's ridiculous for the Governing Body of the WT Org to teach that God is more interested in His Sovereignty than in man's salvation for after all, the whole universe must already know, or are already aware that God is Sovereign over every living thing in the universe. I personally felt the need to inform Jehovah of my desire to serve Him. But you are correct in that Baptism is a symbolic death and rebirth, a doing away with our sins of the past, a fresh start, not a dedication to Him. In fact the NWT uses the term "lend" because we belong to the Christ as he bought us out slavery to sin and corruption. 1Samuel 1:28.
@@bubblestar2314 The vindication of His Sovereignty is the issue as Satan has impugned that status. His right to rule has been challenged and the accusation must be met, but not by us, we can only provide moral support.
Oh by the way the Jehovah Witnesses Insight Book under the word, " mediator" says he's mediator only to 144000, not great crowd. That's their view, not the Bible.
I just read the article to confirm your statement, and blow me down it does say that. It is claiming that only the Anointed are taught by Jehovah through the Christ, and that the Great Crowd can ask for blessings through the Christ, but not direction. So, if, according to the article for some reason we are cut off from the Congregation, we will not be able to comprehend Scripture.
Yes, our Mediator is Christ and no man nor men can take his place. Christ is the Greater Moses and no one has the right to try usurp their positions like Korah, Dathan and Abiram tried to with Moses. Jehovah sees everything including everyone’s heartfelt motives. He is the God of justice and just like he allowed Joseph’s brothers to “throw him away,” and then Joseph also had to endure false accusations, Jehovah allows us to also endure trials and tribulations for a time. Job is another example of one who had false “brothers”/friends. Both Joseph and Job were rewarded and will be given everlasting life. Please keep on trusting in Jehovah through Jesus our appointed King and Redeemer and he will straighten everything out. Philia

Good question...so the board of directors is just an entity set up as the fall guy...A legal way to keep out of reach of any secular authorities...conspiracy theorists will say they have some control...but I'm not buying it. Think of it as people vs things(like the KH)... Take the local congregation...For the legal entity that's set up, the elders (people) nominate other elders to positions on that entity(things). Of course there could be other variables, but in the end they control the congregation(people), by elders, so they control the entity (things). Perhaps we can do a video about Devils lake dissolving it may clear it up a little. So the board of directors is the same way.
Interestingly, the Book of Joel, which has a dual fulfillment, the 1st on Israel, the 2nd for the end times, speaks of "channels" of waters. Although the revised version of the NWT uses the word "streams" in place of "channels", the meaning is the same. Joel 1: 20. The first fulfillment of Joel's prophecy was on God's people, not the Gentile nations, not pagan religion. While the Watchtower has applied the 2nd fulfillment to Christenendom, stating the locusts are Jehovah's Witnesses and their denunciations on Christenendom and their preaching work devastating Christenendom, we must ask, is Christenendom God's house? Are they his people? On closer examination that doesn't really make sense. It more appropriately applies to a judgement by Jehovah on his own people at the "appointed time". The scriptures tell us at 1 Peter 4: 17 that judgement starts with the house of God. Matthew 24: 48 - 51. In other places in the Bible, locusts are used figuratively to describe armies that Jehovah used as his ancient imperial agents to execute his judgments on his own wayward people, as well as other nations. Jeremiah 46: 23; Nahum 3: 15 - 17. So, looking back at Joel, due to the locusts devastation on God's "land" "vine" and "fig tree" , Gods own possession (Joel 1: 6, 7) the "beasts of the field also keep longing for you, because the channels of water have dried up, and fire itself has devoured the pasture grounds of the wilderness." As a result, "Even the livestock groan! The herds of cattle wander in confusion, for they have no pasture! And the flocks of sheep bear the punishment." In the scriptures, animals are very often used to represent people. God's "sheep" suffer during this devastation coming on God's land; the waters in the channels dry up. Once the "powers that be" at the very end of Satan's system turn on God's "land", the Watchtower will no longer provide its "water" or spiritual food "the seeds have shriveled... Storehouses are desolate..Grainaries..torn down, for the grain has dried up." Joel 1: 15 - 17. It will be a time of cleansing and testing and refining of God's people. The Watchtower Society and all its vestiges will be devastated by the armies of a totalitarian government, the eighth and final king of Revelation. God's people will wander about, like lost animals, cattle and sheep without water and food.
