      Glad it was helpful! I've been a little sidetracked with other necessity tasks around here that sneaked up on me just as winter hit. Hoping to have all that wrapped up before the end of the month so I can get back on this project again.

    I'm a distiller and a computer and electronic geek. So I'm part of the target market.

      You happen to be a programmer? If so, what language(s)?

    like it very much. agree 100% with your view on certificates Often I get to solve what those with certificates cannot solve
    I'm not humble, so i always told them if they put more energy into work than assert themselves with nice titles and certificates

      Luckily, I finally annoyed the owner of that weak little IT business into getting rid of me in January. It didn't take too long to find work at another company who actually preferred that I know what I'm doing without any lame certifications that only prove that I memorized answers long enough to pass a test at some time in the past.

    I agree with you 100% on the certifications, I have seen so many so called Certified IT Pros that couldn't fix a simple problem that tech support couldn't hold their hand and walk them through the problem. When this person who did not get a certification, but did hours of actual study and many hours of trial and error repairs, fixed it in minutes.

      Yes, but I'm not at a first release point yet, so GitHub is just being used as backup storage for an incomplete project right now. github.com/larry-athey

      Sorry I was half way through this video when I commented, you did mention about the repo a bit later which I’ve now pulled from github, one of the question that popped up was about cuts, I did a little reading into how genio does this in reflux that I think could be easily implemented from what I’ve seen, they balance the deflag twice before making the hearts cut, any how great informative video, look forward to the videos on the hardware set up

    • @PanhandlePonics
      @PanhandlePonics Рік тому

      Yeah, the code you pulled is going to change quite a few more times before a first official release, so I wouldn't get too involved with anything based on it. As for the cuts, that'll be something that somebody else will have to do because I'm not about to try and convince a person that I've made a computer know what they prefer as far as taste goes. ChatGPT can't even do that. Things that affect flavor in distillate are in the form of a gas which can't be detected with electric current or light, which is why a gas chromatograph mass spectrometer uses a radiation chamber to detect specific gasses/elements.

    • @PanhandlePonics
      @PanhandlePonics Рік тому

      All of the information I see on these automated cuts has nothing to do with taste and it's limited to neutral spirits where it's just something based on the volume of output. I can just as easily watch the flow sensor for a specific output volume and have it pause the run so you can dump the foreshots out of the parrot cup. But doing real cuts just isn't possible because a computer needs to know what tastes you prefer and how to detect the compounds in the distillate that cause those and measure their level.

    I think this channel is broken, I posted a comment on this video and it never appeared after I came back to this page. Now I see there are no comments. Curious to see if this one vaporizes too.

      Thanks for the heads up, I found this one in the "held for review" section flagged as "possible spam". I can't see what the hell about your comment looks like spam. UA-cam must be hiring programmers that flunked out of Microsoft Power Automate "programming" school.

    I get a kick out of your stories about stupidity and douche-baggery in the tech world (certified idiots, people not taking a Nebraska programmer seriously, that Blackpoint Cyber fiasco). I think you should keep at least one of those stories in all videos. What's the most preposterous thing you've seen or been told? 🤓🧐🤯

      That's funny! I'll have to include this in the next Q&A video and give a full answer there. I'd have to say that the all-time winner happened during the Mac OS Mojave days where they began strictly enforcing the Secure Token on user accounts so you had to know its password in order to delete it. I was told "I'm tired of hearing this Secure Token bullshit", and "Mac OS is not Unix", and the best part "They're removing all scripting support when Catalina is released, so your remote management system won't be usable anymore". Well, it is Unix (FreeBSD at that), so is iOS and tvOS, and you can't have Unix without any command shell, which means you could never possibly take away scripting. Plus, what is a C/C++ source code file? It's a script, so that means Apple would supposedly be taking away all software development. Absolutely freakin hilarious attempt at gaslighting.

      @@PanhandlePonics Whoa, you seriously gotta be shittin me! Even if a script was a specific file type, did this person ever consider that they would also have to disable the ability to download? How did they like eating crow after spewing that mess of clueless crazy?
