I wish the Air Force etc. still made cool videos like this
Crazy to think that the lady and her family at 2:00 actually set up the outpost that became Edwards afb
GREAT POSTS thanx for SHARING!!!!
Re-upped with better colour, and much better audio!
JHC, even that commemorative sign is at the base is B.S. Glen Edwards was no more a "native" of California than I am. He remained a dual Canadian/US citizen until the day he died. The revisionist nonsense drives me crazy.
Too bad Edwards has downsized so much, as a CE troop, I think it’d be cool to be stationed there
The announcer sounds like Gerald Mohr.
:/
When this movie was made in 1967, I was just a 20 year old one stripe airman on his first duty assignment, and I was lucky to get Edwards. I spent a year working in the life support shop, at that time called the personal equipment shop, and while I did not work directly with any of these exotic aircraft, I had a chance to see most of them in action. It was a very exciting time to be at Edwards Air Force Base. Just as a purely personal note my daughter was born there. I especially remember one day when I was walking down the hanger row and as I passed the first hanger I look to my left at right in front of me in the space between the hangers was AB 52 with the X 15 hanging under the wing. That image stayed with me that my whole life.
