Coming from a Hungarian family that left Budapest in the late 1920's the story of what the Hungarians Jews went thru is fascinating to me. I have found that along with the stories of their own struggles these testimonies provide a lot of historical info that somehow seems to be glossed over in the History taught in the US. for examples the Participation of the local Hungarians, Poles, Ukranians etc in the Holocuast. and the fact it continued after the end of the ww11 in some areas. Just have to admire the courage of these survivors in telling their important stories of survival.

A terrible story, wonderfully told. A story about losing, claiming and reclaiming identity.
Interesting!
