In this lesson I talk about omitting the tonic of each dominant chord and only use the 3rd, 5th, 7th and b9 giving you a diminished chord.
Using the b9 approach makes it easier than learning a ton of scales and patterns.
This way you only need to be able to get around the 3 diminished chords!
I first saw something like this many years ago in a gypsy jazz violin book (I try to sometimes play the fiddle too)!

Je suis d'accord avec toi... Et c'est du vécu... ne serait -ce lors de ma rééducation... Combien de fois ai-je failli laisser tomber, me disant que les médecins avaient raison en disant que, pour moi, la trompette c'était fini... Certes , j'en ai bavé, mais la chance (for once), a joué en ma faveur lorsque je suis tombé sur ton site. Non seulement ça m'a remis le pied à l'étrier, mais surtout a fait renaître cette passion qu'a toujours été là trompette, le jazz en particulier, avec l'"obsession de faire progresser mon vocabulaire... Je n'avais plus envie de seulement lire une partition et de travailler l'interprétation, mais faire parler mon cœur au moyen de l'inspiration, donc l'improvisation. Voilà ce que j'ai toujours voulu te dire. Alors, une fois encore, merci d'être Darren Lloyd 🙏
