Evening Lee , nice to see , Wavy Dave Hewson working on your set up in the background, he isn’t called “ Obsessive Engineering “ for nothing …….fantastic behind the scenes, and great humour 👍💪🇮🇲👌
Motorcycles these days even for the street come with numerous adjustable features. I have never ridden a bike with any as all my bikes have been and are still, old. For 99% of street riders all they are is a bit of a safety net. It is not until you get to the top level racer that you have the ability to fully understand and get the benefits from these settings. Very interesting to hear the thought process that goes into the use of these on bike adjustments. How they work for and against each other. Complete antipode to my riding life. Wobbling around trying not to fall off. And get from point A to B in one piece. At least having spent well over 40 years doing this gives me an appreciation of what a racer at your level has to do to be competitive. Looking forward to the TT. Booked my pay view ages ago so as not to miss the action.
Had to watch the the part where you talking about the traction control in the garage twice as the first time i was distracted by the bikes in the background on track trying to identify them lol. Brilliant vid 🥃🤘🤘
great job ,love the Honda. I can't begin to imagine learning all that data ,damn I am getting old . Thanks for the inside look and I want a LJ hat . I can wear it here in West Virginia and nobody else will have one , and were is wee man ? Thanks for the volg Cheers
It's Wavey Davy! Really interesting that. Must be easy to get lost without a plan, particularly as everything you change can affect something else that you were previously happy with. With something like the TT do you just end up with a compromise setting?
Love the video Lee the main differences between my days working on BSB electronics is that the rider now has a lot inputs for setups on the fly. I remember on the Ducati it had a quick shifter a simple launch control via the wheel speed sensors. Also to change the ECU maps you had to physically remove the eprom from the ECU no selectable maps from the handlebar switches. All the best Les.
Great vlog Lee. Funny to see Wavey Dave pop up. His vlog, yours and Allen Milyards are my favorites. The Blade looks fast (and loose). Wish you luck with it. Thanks.
Absolutely mind blowing with how technology has evolved in all aspects of racing. It's a skill in its own, mapping and inputting data and knowing how to read that information. Great see what actually is going on behind the scenes and gives a greater understanding when you hear teams and riders say about struggling to get the bike set up. Spot on Lee, very interesting 👍
What a great vlog to see how it all works very interesting to see how you set it up. My bike has that much electric stuff on it the shop gave two books like war and peace thanks Deano. Keep the good work up.
Hi Lee, My Son Freddie would love anything you can give him. He's 7 and Coming to the TT with me end of May. He had a pic with you at the Manx last year and was so pleased that he's nearly as tall as you 😅❤️
Hello. Please may I ask, the chain of the motorcycle seen at 03:02 seems to be loose... I am asking as a spectator NOT as a racer or technician: Is that not dangerous? I have seen motorcycle chains come off at high speed and that is as good as a sword wielding ninja. Just asking to learn.
I made a bubblegum joke about your helmet on the last video but now seeing you ride with it I see the genius in it. It's way easier for the consumers..... I mean viewers, to spot you. 😉
The rear looked pretty loose in places! Great vid keep them coming it’s all interesting as is the craic , you and Neil need to practice some laurel n Hardy scenes 😉
I love your videos but could you do one on explaining the differences between Superbike, Superstockbike, Motogp, BSB and any others you can think of. I've ridden bikes since 1971 and haven't got a clue what all these different genres mean. Cheers and good luck
Great Vlog. Really cool to get some technical insight on the electronics side. Thanks for explaining it & look forward to the suspension vlog you have coming up. Really cool to see how much work the front end does round a short circuit. Love the bants in the team too. Cheers again Lee & Christie for the vlog 👍
Hey lee. Do you guys have the data setting manual for the 2022 hrc ecu? The 2022 ecu has diff settings and values over the 20/21 ecu and the hrc data setting manual isn’t updated yet. Any way you could help me with some info would be great!! I’m just a club racer in the USA, so not your competition. Lol
Great vlog Lee! Regarding the footage at the very end I noticed the fork travel was quite far from using the full stroke i.e. far from bottoming out with a little margin. Is that normal or was your forks set particularly hard? Thank-you 👍
I’d be interested in a hat.. if they are going free? 😂. You said the Fireblade was getting used at the TT.. does that mean you have some inside knowledge on the progress of the NW200?
Respect from Our Lee, Garry I hope some day you get to read this, everyone to his/her own and we are all here supportin YOU, not blowin smoke up yer arse, just sayin it as it is. Great fun to watch Garry do his thing and puttin tyre companies out of business haha. Now that's how you Keep Er Lit. :}
Really interesting video. Would be great to see how things you tested and picked up on in testing and setup eventually worked on the roads. Maybe a look back video at the end of the season, 'what we knew then to now'. Especially in dialing in the the new bikes.
What's chatter with suspension what courses it and why is so hard to ride a bike that has chatter is it tyre related or how the bikes forks are set up do riders suffer with at road racers or is it short curcuits that cause it
Yes bud plenty of the technical stuff very very interesting. Big Niels a happy heur 😂 Does he rivot your chains or split link them . Did you change any grips yet 😂.
Great insight into how you all work methodically to reach a better set up And how one thing can alter another thing to work in harmony. I actually really enjoy listening and watching the "nerdy" aspects. From that tiny clip you can get a better understanding of how/when the suspension is working along with the braking force applied etc For me keep up with awesome job on the vlogs Wish you all the best for the season ahead.👍
Cracking Vlog Lee and first time i have seen a racer do that type of content so fair play. Understanding electronics and making them work is an amazing skill which is something i never thought i would see Davey Hewson being a guru at having known him from his club racing days. The only thing he knew then was how to be fast on just about any bike and how to fold himself along with me and a few others into the phone box on the start finish line at Snetterton ...I think we managed 9 if i remember correctly
I really like the technical content Lee, the bit about traction control interfering with the anti wheelie was interesting. Looking forward to more of the same, especially if you could do it at the TT. I know your time is tight there, but as a viewer, to see what your having to do at the time, rather than you telling us after the fact would bring your channel on immensely
That Wavey is a handsome chap, he should be on more often 😁
Enjoy this type of vlog always up for learning something new 👍
Good to see Wavey Davey in the background… he has a great channel if you like bikes, both road and race.
Glad you're all getting to enjoy our beautiful weather here ......Saludos desde España mi amigo..
Best video/blog yet, 👍👍
that cool to see Davey there, I'm watching his video next
Interesting an funny watching that. All teams need a Neil. 👍🏻
There’s only one neil 🤣
It’s very complex with all the different settings, easy to get lost in all that. Suspension footage is ace, more of that stuff please 🙏
Very true lol
Great footage Lee. Nice to see Neil smiling . And I love a cap please.
Another interesting one Lee Thank you
Evening Lee , nice to see , Wavy Dave Hewson working on your set up in the background, he isn’t called “ Obsessive Engineering “ for nothing …….fantastic behind the scenes, and great humour 👍💪🇮🇲👌
Good stuff again fella. Love the technical insight.
Yes please would love a Hat Lee 👍🏻

My worries for you at TT isn't the suspension but how that island affects your vision.
Think Neil is hoping to make the old chain into a necklace as it's so bling and will suit his new cap, wearing it backwards of course. 😀
Its like the dream team. You and Wavey Dave 😊 Oh, and Neil.
Great vlog , nice to see wavy in the background and you need to give Neil a script lol 😆
Brilliant vlog Lee, enjoyed it as always -- nice to see the tech stuff as well. Throw us few hats, don't be shy, they're no good to Neil anyway... 😃👍
Thanks Lee for a good video showing
Behind the scenes .
Had to watch the the part where you talking about the traction control in the garage twice as the first time i was distracted by the bikes in the background on track trying to identify them lol. Brilliant vid 🥃🤘🤘
I’ll defo have one of them caps Lee.
Lee, ask Grumpy to check ya chain tension, looks like it's gunna chuck a chain mate, thrashing around something chronic.
Really enjoyed that! To me, suspension setup is one of the few areas I can sort of understand, so would love more of that.
Nice to have the info on how you test.
Niel did very well not to use that skipping rope as a whip!
great job ,love the Honda. I can't begin to imagine learning all that data ,damn I am getting old . Thanks for the inside look and I want a LJ hat . I can wear it here in West Virginia and nobody else will have one , and were is wee man ? Thanks for the volg Cheers
My two favourite racing vloggers one video…..Lee & Wavey Davey….😃👍🏻

Hey Lee, where can we get those new caps? 😊
Excellent video Lee as always really interesting to see the approach that you take in setting up the bikes
Stay safe and ride fast Legend
Hi Lee, My Son Freddie would love anything you can give him. He's 7 and Coming to the TT with me end of May. He had a pic with you at the Manx last year and was so pleased that he's nearly as tall as you 😅❤️
Awesome chap's 👍🏻
This is gold🙏 much thanks!!
Brilliant as ever, must be very satisfying to get all that data on the new bike, hope it helps you do well this season.
Yeh Lee would love a hat mate and will see you at Oulton Park if your there this yr
See you then 👍🏻
Amazing how much the front suspension works on braking and acceleration , great footage 👍
Thanks 👍.
Love the on board shots👍👍
Thanks 👍.
Grate Blog again very interesting information again
Love Neil’s enthusiasm you can see he loves working on that bike & how do you get the Caps .
I was just thinking "Davey Wavey should be watching this"... and there he is ....
Great vlog Neil is funny 🤣🤣
Glad you enjoyed it.

Interesting to hear what all goes on with a race team and bike. How much faster are you with electronics helping? 😎👍
Would love to see the suspension working around the TT
Fascinating video, it's really interesting to get the technical side of it all.
The hat does look nice if they become available.
Great vlog , nice to see some black lines being put down ✊ enjoyed all the electronic and suspension stuff 👍
I made a bubblegum joke about your helmet on the last video but now seeing you ride with it I see the genius in it. It's way easier for the consumers..... I mean viewers, to spot you. 😉
Might have missed it but do you like the bike? How does it compare to the bm’s.
The rear looked pretty loose in places! Great vid keep them coming it’s all interesting as is the craic , you and Neil need to practice some laurel n Hardy scenes 😉
some great camera angles there Lee, well apart from the crack😧😧fantastic incite as to what it takes to be successful, just a brilliant video
Thanks man
Already subbed to Wavey Davey. He's great at explaining mechanical things.
I love your videos but could you do one on explaining the differences between Superbike, Superstockbike, Motogp, BSB and any others you can think of. I've ridden bikes since 1971 and haven't got a clue what all these different genres mean. Cheers and good luck
Great suggestion thanks

No problem 👍.

I don’t know the answer to this mate but I’ll ask the data man
@@Leejohnston kk. Thank you so much. I’m lost over here across the pond. Lol
Excellent stuff LJ!! Sure it’s pretty repetitive for you, especially having to deal with N 🙄😂 but interesting for m/c nerds!
Great vlog Lee! Regarding the footage at the very end I noticed the fork travel was quite far from using the full stroke i.e. far from bottoming out with a little margin. Is that normal or was your forks set particularly hard? Thank-you 👍
Good point mate all forks don’t actually use full travel it depends on the internal and fork length etc
Great stuff Lee thank you 💪❤️👍
No problem thanks
Mint again lad ✌️
Love the tech and the work going into setting up the bikes
Be getting one of the new caps and how big is Neil head Ffs 😄🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🇮🇲🏍🇮🇲
I’d be interested in a hat.. if they are going free? 😂. You said the Fireblade was getting used at the TT.. does that mean you have some inside knowledge on the progress of the NW200?
That was really good.
Thanks
Lee you were givin Casey Stoner a bit of competition on that rear wheel sieways sliding motion, although Garry McCoy is the king. Keep Er Lit. :}
Different league Gary Macoy👌🏻
Respect from Our Lee, Garry I hope some day you get to read this, everyone to his/her own and we are all here supportin YOU, not blowin smoke up yer arse, just sayin it as it is. Great fun to watch Garry do his thing and puttin tyre companies out of business haha. Now that's how you Keep Er Lit. :}
I did not realise how much set up is involved.
Lee do you have to do a different set up for each track you race at .
Love it ,great footage, and details thanks again so jealous I don’t have a team for my bike👍
Glad you enjoyed it mate
Great content again 👍, are you running standard brake lines .
Great video Lee but my head is fryed lol the new helmet looks great nice to see the pink back again mate bikes sounding good 👍
LEE...This is the only vlog where you have not mentioned BREAKFAST....lol
Great vlog, very interesting with the electronics and suspension! Any chance of a hat?😜
Great video as usual brilliant insight into the racing world ! All the hats 🧢 gone ?
Really interesting video. Would be great to see how things you tested and picked up on in testing and setup eventually worked on the roads. Maybe a look back video at the end of the season, 'what we knew then to now'. Especially in dialing in the the new bikes.

Lee no idea how you can ride flat out and adjust settings at the same time, Neil's Fermanagh accents no bad 😂
🤣🤣🤣
Always enjoy your video's I have also been watching Dave's Channel too, I found him about a year ago and find him informative and funny as F ;-)
Yes bud plenty of the technical stuff very very interesting. Big Niels a happy heur 😂 Does he rivot your chains or split link them . Did you change any grips yet 😂.
Yes they are split link
Great stuff as usual, all the best for the season. Keep er fast, but keep er safe. Where can I get the new hat.

@@Leejohnston thanks Lee
you'll wind Neil up so bad that he'll forget to check your brakes properly one day
I think that all the time 🤣
Great tech video Lee. It just shows how much work goes in to preparing the bike. I see Neil, is still a happy bunny. 😃👍
Great insight into what goes on while setting the bike up, Neil being busy as usual, great Vlog Lee thanks.
Great video Lee! I’d love one of those hats if you can spare one ☝🏻 👍🏻🙏🏻
I reckon Neil is suffering a bad dose of the piles. 🤣🤣😉😉
Another great Vlog Lee, do you know where in the uk will stock Rolon 520 chains ?
Can’t wait for the next episode. 😊
Oh and how do we get a new hat ?
Thanks mate i actually don’t know the answer to that question yet but o defo will soon 👍🏻
