I'm a Harmony collector..but not offended with this mod at all, it's cool. And yes, the 'ebonized' piss-wood is infamous at this point. They even put it on some of their expensive guitars, I guess they just did not know that it would chemically weaken the treated wood after years.
i found one just like that at the dump it like me had become unglued i got all the pieces and never looked closely at who made it .... Just figured it was some sears and roebuck special??
I Have a old stella 1939 dobro style guitar ,it has the silk screen gondola boat simular to the one you have hanging up ,guy Claims his father bought it new in 1939,also had a pickup in it which pretty sure was added on but very old ,it sounds nice plugged in ,I would like to hear the story of how and where you got yours cheers just subscribed to your channel !!!
Hey Joe! I bought the black Gondolier from my friend Nathaniel Adams. He is a specialist in Kay guitars. He is Goes by St Louis Luthier and is a great resource for catalog guitars.
so... I don't hate that at all my man. concept terrible. but it wanted to exist in this world and you welcomed it to us. lap steel. sounds good enough. everybody who touches it probably wants to keep it.
Eb...You're getting me hooked on these old guitars! I love the tone of this.

Thank you. Unless it’s Elvis’s childhood guitar I can imagine a reason to bother with trying to save the dyed boards.
