Not having a bridge gauge, I use a metric tape measure. I keep the bridge at 693mm on one cello and 694mm. on the other., I check it every few weeks. Since I have had installed the 'geared' cello pegs, the bridge does not move as often since the gear pegs adjust the pitch so little.
This is dried out soap - it needs to be cheap, hard soap such as you are given in an inexpensive hotel, and then let it dry out for a few months in a warm place so that it will form 'flakes' when rubbed across the bridge grooves. This is a very good lubricant.
for the love of god, don’t ever glue anything on top of your cello! just so you know, the bridge is supposed to be flexible in both its position and the angle relative to the instrument, it is supposed to be adjustable

What is the “soap” hes rubbing into the bridge?
If its just graphite, can I use pencil lead?

You can definitely use soft pencil lead - 4B or 6B - but we find dried out cheap soap is quicker and cleaner to use.
If putting some glue under the bridge to keep it fix, will it be better ?
