Each partner exchanges a shoe and sits back-to-back. A series of questions is asked, and each person puts the 'correct' answer shoe in the air. Quick and entertaining way to have some fun.

You forgot the context. The question was, who’s the messiest, he raised his wife’s shoe, and said “I’m a Marine”. Marines focus heavily on cleanliness in training, like making your bed, dressing nice, etc (hence dress blues). He was saying that it’s part of his job to be clean.
Now some Marines just don’t give a shit and get it all together by the time there’s an inspection, of they’re reservists, but judging by this fella’s rank, Lance Corporal, it’s likely he recently (within the year) graduated boot camp or his schoolhouse, meaning he maintains an emphasis on cleanliness.

It’s a wedding, so the people there are friends and family, so basically everyone already knows he is a marine.
So by him saying that, it doesn’t imply that he does it for attention since everybody already knows.
It’s just because marines are supposed to be clean and disciplined.
And in the end, if it’s a lie, then it’s just a way to make a joke.
Stop getting triggered just because you think every marine is an attention whore, and they are surely way more disciplined than you.

Can someone tell me why marines get married in uniform just wondering
Marines are prideful about their service and the uniform is meant to be worn in formal settings such as weddings etc. Marines are also credited with having the best uniform in the U.S. Military.
