Its rarely economical to patch up. The time u spend pissing about blending it in.... is almost the time it takes to flatten and trowel up a set. Great vid as always.
I do repair patches alot and use polyfilla power mix to make fine edge on multifinish plaster. I use kitchen sponge to blend. As I normally paint wall after repair two coats on edge across new and old guarantee perfect job. Great job a lot of people say it will always be seen they are wrong.🤣
Brilliant mate. I got taught the same way by a guy recently and it's a game changer but not as easy task to learn. Harder than just doing the normal hit of plastering. Great video mate also keep up the good work very inspiring as im very passionate about my trade 👌
Your a perfectionist. I wouldn't worry about the transition a decorator will get that with a bit of easi-fill. As long as the rest of it's good that's fine .
Talk about blending I'm using hardwall on really bad walls Then I do a 50×50 mix with hardwall And drywall adisive For a second coat Comes out grey and I speedskim it Man it comes out the nuts And is as hard as hell
@@gazdkw82 depends on how dry the existing plaster is or the type of paint on the wall but I would go for a fairly week mix of PVA to water . It's only to control the suction.
Nices video again with very good tips info could you help reskime wall look very good even on the light put when turn ligth off turn lamp at night on the lamp show up dumps and uneven all over the wall put look fine in day time can you help way this happen thanks
Is the wall prep the same? PVA the wall the width your going to feather? Or is PVA not required? Not PVAing around window reveals over old plaster after a while the plaster would become lose.
Yep. Definitely would give a good finish. Unfortunately I didn’t have any on the job. But it would have probably been our preferred if we had the option
Anyone answer pls? Could I do this method by knocking back up the first mix? Dont see why I couldn't but thought to ask. Also...I plastered a wall and architrave jad to be taken off later date so parts of plaster burst...can I smooth them out using this method by blending into the plastered wall? (Not painted yet)
I find with blends that the customer needs to be warned that if theres not enough paint on the roller, the roller can be sticky and rips the plaster clean off.
Question to anyone.... or Alex I have 6 bags of multi finish plaster that has expired on 20/11/2020 now is there any chance to use extra time ?? Will it work??? Or does anyone know any additive???
Hack off the existing skim back a few inches then bead the corners skrim if necessary then prime it and match back to existing plaster technically this guy is wrong it's the lazy way to match in plaster

That’s the general rule we apply. From
Start to finish.
We recommend
10cm first cost.
20cm second coat.
30cm fine will with fat.
Talk about blending

Flexi trowel for blending in .... best things ever for parching .And always blend onto PVA.
Blend to PVA. 100% agree. I meant to mention that in the video. Great advice.
Often the PVA/ edge of the plaster will tear on the final trowelling I find

Depends on the size. How many bags we are doing. But on average around 3 hours 15min ish on a 4 bag set.

Very good point. We usually recommend to brush PVA over the blend first to seal it as they do tend to pull up on the roller.
