It's still a two tier economy. Of course if you own stock, lots of good news. Same with rentals that lots of upper middle class Americans own. Gig jobs are extremely unreliable in terms of weekly income. You own property which allows for Air BnB? Good times. If your credit cards are mainly a way to earn rewards, it's different then if you use them to pay bills, carry a balance and are slammed by rising interest rates.

She will have to address inflation and immigration. I find it surprising these two commentators think she will try to ignore them because they are "difficult" issues for democrats. Inflation is in large part due to greed. Corporate profits are soaring. Immigration policy can be laid out and the terms of the bill the Rs killed summarized.
Inflation is not just a US issue. One root cause of it is Putin's war on Ukraine.

This disaster causes widespread damage to crops and agricultural infrastructure, drastically reducing the supply of these goods. In turn, prices of these agricultural products raise.
Democrats had an immigration bill where the GOP got almost everything they wanted. But Republicans voted against it to keep it alive as a campaign issue.
Inflation was caused by terrible Covid policy, plain and simple.

You mean when there was no war , Gasoline was $1.85 , Milk was $1.35 inflation was 1.2% . Twice as many AMERICANS died from COVID under Vice President Harris then under Trump. The border was closed. Roe v Wade was still the law under Trump. Vote BLEW.
We can ask if she’s electable because she’s yet to win a democratic nomination for president much less the whole shebang. This is a reasonable question given the facts.
I'm one of those older white Republicans that was discussed in this podcast and only in my worst flippin nightmare would I vote for Trump.

I would prefer 18% interest rates, illegal immigrants living in house and no guns rather than one more second with the pandemonium of a Trump presidency. If she stays only a fraction more sane than Trump, she absolutely has my vote.
Let me tell you that you aren't a Republican who would give up none of those issues. 18% inflation alone is insane. You think you'll lose democracy with Trump? You'll lose the whole world just with that. A completely insane stance.

I am a Reagan Republican that has NOT voted Republican since John McCain. The character of the candidate is extremely important to me. I would easily accept a democratic president that is competent and rational than an incompetent and irrational Republican candidate.
