Just made my pillow cover from a pillow case that I completely removed the seams from and started from scratch following your tutorial. The pillowcase was a unique green that did not want to pay for in home decor fabric or an already-made pillow. Your tutorial was just what I needed!!
I just discovered your channel this afternoon and immediately made two of these pillow covers using the 12”x16” pillow forms. I have had the form for a couple of years and had forgotten about them. Now, using your excellent directions, I’m anxious to buy more and make them as nice gifts. Thank you for a much easier way to make these than how I made them in the past!
These are great! I recycled my shirts and turned them into pillow covers. I don’t have spare zippers and still not really confident about buttons so this is really helpful thank you
I've never used a sewing machine in my life or made a cushion cove but gave this ago, omg it was so easy even my 4 year old helped to make her own cushion.
I so appreciate you giving the dimensions for different sizes of pillows. I am using this tutorial to make an "envelope pillow cover" for my dog's bed.
I needed to make an envelope cover for my husband's ice pack for his back. I looked at all the youtube videos and watched yours because it was the shortest. Less than 10 minutes later the pillow (ice bag) cover was made. Really appreciated your taking the time to share your technique!!
lol - omg, I've been making envelope style pillow cases for forever, and I NEVER thought to do it that way! (always cut two pieces for the back and one for the front) Trying this immediately! Thanks!
Thank you! I have always been awful at sewing (my highschool sewing project got thrown out because they thought it was scrap material) but thanks to this video I was able to sew my mum a cushion cover as a farewell gift
Very well done and easy. Thanks for not talking. Some ladies talk too much and they are really slow, because of the talking. You help me concentrate in the making, not the idiomatic expressions and the accents. Thanks a million!
Hi Nicky, I totally agree! Sometimes I wonder if I should talk in my videos but I like to get to the point. Thanks so much for commenting and giving me your thoughts :)
Thank you very much for taking the time to make this video. At first, I was a tad bit confused with the formula in the video but when I went to your blog post - that cleared it all up. My new pillowcases are perfect! Thank you.
i did this as my first sewing project, and the result was an 8/10. it took me over an hour because my machine got stuck a few times, and i accidentally sewed one of the seams to the middle of the fabric (don’t ask how i did that cuz i honestly don’t know lmao). the envelope part was a tinie bit wonky but we got there in the end, my pillow actually fits!!
3 pieces work well if you want to add a trim like pom poms or piping into the edges. But if you want to make covers really fast then this is so easy. Thanks for taking the time to watch and comment.
Hi Ann, thanks so much for watching. There is a link to my blog article that also has all the sizes for cutting as well to save you pausing the video. Have a great day :)
Thanks so much for this lovely tutorial and the exact cutting measurements for std sizes.. great for the occasional tailor like me! Have subscribed to your UA-cam channel..
Hi Tazeen, the measurements start at 0.44 in the video . If you need more clarification please see my blog article at blog.treasurie.com/how-to-make-cushion-covers-envelope/ . The photos should help. Thanks so much for watching.
Tazeen Quazi yes she did at very beginning. Pause it and write it down. You have to measure the width. Then she gave you THE FORMULA to use inserting that widths length etc.
There's no need an explanation if you knew about sewing doesn't matter if that just basic sewing and you'll get it what you see coz every pillow case has different measurement /size ✌
I've sewn a handkerchief the other day, and a scrunchie this morning. Using my limited experience and a few scraps of cloth that I bought from my local Hannas, I was really quickly able to make this. Thanks for the tutorial!
