Out of the 100’s of tsunami videos I’ve watched I’ve never heard the birds freaking out as bad as they are in this video. They knew something was about to go down.
I visited this place few months back. The sea gulls you see in the video are always there in this place surrounding the shrine. They are in huge numbers and they make a lot of noise pretty much all the time. you can search for "Kabushima shrine" and you'll find the videos of this place in normal circumstances.
This one shows the water headed back out to sea before another big wave comes. In most of the videos it’s there to some degree. It is very eerie to say the least. The water level drop during is crazy

Well given the damage done to Hachinohe, I guess the significance is how much it really matters to get to high ground! :)
Not every video needs to be dramatic and show a whole town being destroyed, this was a historical event and every video should be preserved.

the significance is that this shows how the tsunami affected the Kabushima shrine. Its a beautiful and famous shrine, infested with sea gulls (you can check out the videos of this place under normal circumstances).
