Yes when I was little I was scared of sharks in the pool!! I know exactly what Molly was talking about! I was a fearful kid 😂
Yes! Same! My imagination would run away with me and when I swam to the deep end of our pool in Florida I also imagined a great white shark there. That water was deep at 9ft and darker then the rest and in that moment there was no one else in the pool, I remember that as a small child!
Yup same here, but it wasn’t just for sharks it was also turtles, I remember a hotel once having mosaic tile turtles and I blame that for my imagination running away with it
I was also a kid that was scared of the imaginary, but very real shark in the deep end of the pool. It was only ever there of I was in the pool by myself though.
Yep! My older sisters told me Jaws lived in the deep end of our pool & that he was "coming to get me" lolol! I would lay in bed so scared!!! lololol! 🤣
@@pigeonplumtree3 oh my gosh 😂 I have an older sister too! she would mess with me all the time 😂
As a Louisiana native, I can definitely validate Molly’s love of beignets! There is just something about them that doughnuts can’t touch.
I thought the strawberry sauce was disgusting. I was expecting it to be a "creamy-type" texture, but instead was all chunky-like. It was gross.
The chocolate ganache (or whatever it's called) was good though.
As a kid I had a huge fear of sharks getting in the deep end too, there's a name for it. I love the video, definitely helps because I've been looking to stay there with the family. Thank y'all for all you do 🎉
I'm glad Alan drank the dip pot, makes me feel better for doing it too 😁
Love this video! As a Kentucky guy, I vote Molly and Alan take a trip up and do a bourbon trail video. We can justify it being Disney related since they have that Knob Creek select 😉
Or an oaks/derby trip?!
@@mandymoore-roberson8549 this is also acceptable! 😂
I am at Scat Cats Club lounge RIGHT now and let me tell you, these beignets and cheese fritters are AMAZING 🥰😍🥰😍
Here to say I was CERTAIN there was a great white shark in every deep end of every pool I went in until I was smart enough to know it was physically impossible 😅 you are not alone Molly!
I agree with Alan’s facial expression on whether or not to get the beignet ears. 😂
This is a smart married man, doesn't outright say it, but says it with a look!
Yay!! Resort staycations! This and the winner dinner series are my fave! Got my coffee, and a cat, and settling in to watch. Thank you, Molly and Alan!
Mine too!
Love your videos!
Yep me too! Got my coffee, breakfast and oh look Sasha my cat is coming over to watch!
I just got back from my first trip to POFQ and it will NOT be my last. My daughter and I loved how compact it was, easy to get to the food/drinks from anywhere, ONE bus stop!, and beignets. Can't be beat for moderates and worth the small amount more over the Values, for us at least! LOVED IT!!
I could have written the exact same response. We stayed for the first time last month & LOVED it. We had a split stay with BC & regretted the change. FQ was much more enjoyable
I’d love if you did a haul on all your ears and why you got them/ love them!!! Would be such a fun video to watch ❤
I’m just curious Molly? Has mammoth club found a way to clone you? You must have whiplash with all the traveling and information you need to know for everyone of these videos. Just want to tell you how much I appreciate all your hard work, and effort yourself and the rest of the Mammoth club put in to all of these wonderful videos. I enjoy your videos very much all three of you together. Then having videos with Alan are just great, and to top it off have videos with just Molly GREAT! I look forward to all of these videos. Thank you mammoth club for all your hard work. Your all much appreciated.( but love Molly) 🤤
French quarter is my favorite place to stay at Disney. I love that it is small with one bus stop and great boat ride to Disney springs. Love it!
This is our favorite resort. We love that it’s small, has 1 bus stop, and taking the boat to Disney Springs. They had a Shrimp Po’Boy for years that wasn’t on the menu when we went in November. So sad. But the beignets helped. 😊
Shhhh! I don't want everyone knowing about this amazing resort! 😛Easily my favorite stay on property. The jazzy vibes. The beignets. Having Scat Cat's live music to enjoy after a long park day. The easy access to Disney Springs. It's perfect.
My girlfriend and I love this hotel...its beautiful and bc its small, you always feel relaxed and stress-free
I totally agree about Scat Cat’s Lounge! We went in December and loved the drinks, entertainment and food!
I love that you both have mics now! I can hear all the hilarious comments 😂. Thanks for a resort "tour"!
I always thought there was a shark in the pool when I was a kid and it still pops into my mind as an adult from time to time 😂🦈❤ 14:08
“Alan we’ve been over this….that’s not a chair. It’s for suitcases!”😂
Molly ,I just have to tell you that I actually thought there was a shark in my bedroom in the carpet and I would run from the hallway and jump onto my bed so Jaws would not get me! And this is yes right after I had watched the movie for about a good month!😆
I used to jump into my bed like that because I thought a vampire might be underneath...😂
French Quarter Resort is one of our favorites. The aesthetics is so beautiful. We've stayed there a few times and it's always incredible.
Love to see a Riverside staycation too!! This was great!
Yay! Ya’ll are at one of my favorite spots ever!!!!
The views for long walks, live music at the lounge and the beignets make it practically heavenly to me!!!! 💜
THE SHARK IN THE DEEP END YES! I still get low key nervous if I swim in my parents pool at night 😆🫣
Molly. The fear of a shark in the deep end of the pool definitely haunted my childhood! I feel so heard 😂
Im here to vouch for molly. I used to think sharks were in the deep end of my local pool cos it was dark and scary things live in the dark, so your not alone there molly haha
I too, feared having a shark in my own pool at home.
I love how that was your childhood fear, yet Jaws is your favorite movie and you were legit so excited to see Bruce hanging in that museum 😂
Yes! As a kid, I was always scared of a potential great white shark in the deep end of the pool. Sometimes I was concerned about one in my bathtub too. Obviously not logical. But…with no one mentioning this fear, my kids have also been concerned about sharks in pools.
Just stayed at POFQ in January for a very impromptu Sister Trip! Normally stay at AKL but since it was our 2nd trip in 3 months, went with a less expensive resort. One of my sisters and I had stayed here before but one sister had not-we all LOVED IT!! Beautiful, peaceful and yes-the food/beignets! Amazing!!
1000% with Molly on the shark in a pool, and I also have the same love/obsession with Jaws
As a pastry chef I can say Molly is correct-a beignet batter is different than a doughnut. And fully agree that they are amazing! Also side note that was not true king cake either, I’d say it was cinnamon coffee cake with icing resembling king cake. Thanks for another amazing video!
Also this is my request for Alan to recreate that burger at home. I love his instagram food posts
Just had the perfect Molly day at CA Disneyland parks. Lobster Nachos at Lamplight Lounge, eating Mickey beignets, while watching Fantasmic and Wondrous Journeys Fireworks.
P.S. It was the first time I actually got to see the new fireworks since I always go on weekdays or with small children who can't stay up late, and Molly is absolutely right. It is literally the best fireworks/show I have ever seen at Disneyland ever! I absolutely got choked up too.
I totally agree about Scat Cat’s lounge! We went in December and really enjoyed the drinks food and entertainment!
I love Molly's jacket. It reminds me of the 80s. The best decade ever. 🎸
There’s really a value on doing this for each resort to give people a full view of options.
Thanks for taking us along!! Shoutout to Mr. Toad... we sure miss you!!
Here to agree with Molly on the massive fear of there being a shark in the deep end of every pool 😂
My husband and I love this resort ! It’s a must stay during our WDW stay !
YES!!! There was a great white shark in the deep end of the pool and you would have to swim as fast as you could to the steps in the shallow end to escape it from chasing you.
Extra terrifying because my grandparents had a black bottom pool. 😩
Yikes! A black bottom pool?! Anything could be down there..... just kidding lol
I stayed here last month. I had the BEST room location and absolutely loved the compactness of the resort and the ease of getting to the resort center and bus stop. A new favorite for sure!
Molly is correct. After seeing Jaws, much too young, I think EVERY pool has a shark in the deep end. Damn you Bruce. 😂
OMG, I was watching some UA-cam yesterday, you know, other people's reviews of French Quarter, and was literally wishing for a review by Molly and here it is! Likely where we'll be staying on our next trip... thank you for fulfilling my "mamifesting"
Resort stay-cations are my fav! Can’t wait to see where y’all adventure to next
It’s totally a real fear! I used to think the parts of the water in the shade/shadows had sharks, so I avoided them at all costs!
Your reaction when you opened the door! Fantastic! I’ll be laughing about that for days! It was the 😳🫤🤔
The French Quarter has been our favorite Disney hotel for many many years! We love how small it is. We love the boat to Disney Springs. We love the pool and the food court. There used to be a greeter at the door who actually remembered our names when we would come back. He was a real sweetheart! Thank you for showcasing this wonderful resort. It made me homesick!
Molly, you’re not alone in your fear of a great white shark in the deep end of the pool. Fully convinced myself of this as a kid, too.
Really enjoyed the review. I’ve stayed at the French Quarter 5 times, love it. The two most recent were march and September of last year. I’ll be there on the 24th to the 30 th of this month as well, celebrating my 65th birthday and beginning of retirement.
Do those rooms have Hey Disney! yet?
We stayed at French Quarter several years ago and it's absolutely our favorite resort. Can't wait to go back again!
I also had the shark fear in the pool. So much so I got out and thoroughly inspected the pool before continuing my swim lol. French quarter is my family’s favorite.
Loved this tour of my current favorite resort! I think I could do Beignets for Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner!
Molly as someone who grew up in FL with a pool I definitely thought at night in the dark there was a shark lol
I'm not sure why lol. Now as an adult I realize a more valid fear would have been a gator lol
It’s been decades but I finally have validation about my fear of sharks in the pool! I could never be the last one out of the pool because I knew Bruce was coming for me.
OMG! You are so right!!
Beignets are definitely different than a donut.
Beignets done right have a slightly different texture and weight (yes, they don’t taste as heavy and they don’t weigh as much) than a donut.
That’s because their ingredients are slightly different. They have more eggs and more yeast.
That makes them lighter, puffier and with a middle that has a doughy bounce.
Thanks for reminding me of the goodness of having the powdered sugar on (and all around) them.
And I agree - savory might be nice but the classic is best!
Cheers to the bag shake!!
You’ve convinced me! Moving from Coronado standard room to French quarter. I’ve stayed at Coronado before so I should try French quarter.
Stayed at both Riverside AND French Quarter, loved the boat transportation to Disney Springs from both - but French Quarter really won me over. We'll totally be going back and staying there again.
Y’all need to come to Cafe Du Monde in the real French Quarter! Mickey beignets are good, but the real thing is next level!
Oh, AMEN to this! Mickey’s pale in comparison. 🙂
Was terrified of this one pool I swam in at a hotel because it was a little cloudy and I thought there would be sharks in the deep end. Totally with you on that one!
I usually have my cocktails while fishing. Makes the fishing more enjoyable.
This is my comfort Mammoth Club video 🥰
I feel like I can almost taste the au jus sauce! Good job, Alan! 👏🏻
Molly I 1000% thought there were sharks in the deep end and I went through a phase where I was convinced one could come up through the tub drain. 😂😂😂❤❤❤
We were in the background when you were filming! Ahhh we had no idea!!! This MADE our whole week! ❤️❤️❤️ Love the French Fry Quarter! (as my child would say!) ❤️
I love that y’all do these things together!
YES!! Molly and beignet's. Good start to Sunday. This is my family's favorite resort by far, love taking the boat to Disney Springs and stopping in at Scat Cats for a nightcap after a long day in the parks. We have reservations in October, can't wait.
Yay!! We are staying here in June and cannot get over the fresh FQ videos to get up to date accurate reviews.
Definitely our favorite Disney resort where we have stayed. Fun, smaller size is nice, bus station is easy and the boats are a fun change to get to Disney Springs.
I’ve stayed here 3 times, I love it. Small, pretty, and not too in-your-face Disney (just personal preference but I get my full-on Disney fix in the parks and like subtler theming at the resorts). In fact I was there last month, and really miss it (can’t visit very often from the UK).
Our one stay at POFQ, when we couldn't use a friend's DVC points at SSR, was awesome!! The compact size of the resort was great. My young kids (at the time) loved the pool. Theming was on point. And probably most important, we were a lovely boat ride away from Disney Springs, of which my family is a HUGE fan! I would definitely stay there again.
I have been a huge fan and follower for many years! We just got back from our week long trip to FQ and I saw a post on your IG story when you were eating beignets while we were and I was so hoping to run into you!! Out of all the trips we have taken in recent years, we have yet to run into you! So bummed! We love you guys and your videos! I can always count on you to help my Disney depression and will rewatch them to get my Disney fix! Thank you all the hard work you guys put in this channel to bring the magic to all of us! Hope to meet you guys one day! 😊
French Quarter is the best 😊 We will be back home in September. Thanks Molly and Alan.
Loved staying at Port Orleans in January. Loved how everything was close together and transportation was great. Took the boat to Disney Springs a few times and it was so relaxing.
Love love LOVE POFQ! Our favorite resort, for sure. I wish I was there right now, sitting outside with a coffee and beignets!
Thanks for another GREAT video! French Quarter is my favorite WDW hotel too! 🤗❤ Molly, I also thought there was a shark in the deep end of a pool when I was a kid. You are not alone! :)
Makes me want to stay there for sure! I would love to see your thoughts on the Polynesian and Contemporary. Thanks for all of the fun videos! I love them all!
We absolutely love Port Orleans French Quarter. It is our go to resort every time we go to Disney. Thank you for doing a staycation there. ❤️
Our favorite resort. Love the size and the tranquility.
Molly and Alan you are such an amazing pair. You complement each other so well. Another amazing video.
Yess! You are not alone Molly! As a kid I was on swim team and was terrified of the back stroke because that's when I thought the shark would come out of the filter and eat me!
“But those were savory beignets.” I cannot wait to use that line.
Port Orleans FQ looks like such a fun resort! The theming just makes it look like a great time. Getting a Mammoth spin on resorts we know and love has been so delightful and I can’t wait to see what other resorts are highlighted in this series.
Another great video!!!! I have stayed at Port Orleans FQ several times, and it has always been a favorite! Rooms are comfortable, and the overall resort itself is beautiful and believe it or not, pretty quiet.
Thank you so much for this video. We are going to stay there next month and just looking forward to it. We got to walk around it and loved it but we look forward to staying there. Very informative and we found out more things that look like so much fun. Thank you again MAM FAM :)
my siblings and I 100% had a great white shark in the deep end of our pool! We feel you Molly!
I had a fear of sharks in the deep end too!!! AAACCCKK! My brother convinced me it was true and I believed it for many of my childhood years. Bless my heart! You 2 look like movie stars! So fun to watch always.
Molly, I also had the shark in the pool fear. I was also terrified of alligators in the pool. When I was seven, I went to Florida and Disney World for the first time. Unfortunately, I had recently seen a PBS show on the Everglades so was absolutely terrified of alligators. I was so unreasonably afraid of alligators being in the pool at the hotel.
We’re all here to support you in this🤣 Molly I used to swim in lap pools and when I’d open my eyes I would imagine the blue tiles under me was a giant snake thanks to the Movie Anaconda. Btw I love your intro jacket! 💕💚 and thank you Disney Port Orleans Resort for the professional brand blow dryer in the room. 😍🙌🏼 Love your Staycation videos.
Molly sharing her beignets? What? My sister and I would order beignets and coffee every morning! Seriously, we stay at FQ as our home resort. We love going to Disney Springs by boat. Love when you do resort stays!
YES! After seeing Jaws, I was convinced there were great white sharks in all bodies of water (swimming pools, lakes, fountains at the mall, etc.). 🦈
yes Molly I agree are used to have panic attacks in a pool or a lake thinking a shark could be in there!
Yes! Shark in pool! I always had that thought when i was young 😂
100% thought that sharks lived behind the bars where the wave machine was in the deep end. I get you Molly! I dawn so fast out of there, I could have qualified for the Olympics! 🦈🏊🏻
My fiancé' and I were actually staying there at the same time as you guys! We were at Hollywood Studio's during that storm. She insisted on the French Quarter instead of Shades of Green and I'm so happy she did. The quick service and the drinks are fantastic, the jazz music playing sets a calm and relaxed environment, and the resort is so small and quiet that it really helps feel like we were getting away from the chaos of the parks. Plus beignets and a latte from the café' is the best way to start a Disney morning.
Love this!!! My mom & I are going to stay at riverside in November because we want to stay in royal room but will definitely be going over to scat cat lounge and cafe for beignets! Can’t wait!! Thank you Molly for all your wonderful videos! I watch you just about every day! Lol 🥰
Shark in the deep end of a pool childhood fear right here 🙋♀️
To be fair, my mother was a house keeper while I was growing up, and my only experience with inground pools was when her clients would let me come over during summer break and swim.
I was overly excited to say the least, until I tasted the pool water and realize it tasted like salt. RED FLAG said my adolescent mind! Only sea life swims in salted water! The deep end was also VERY deep in my child like view, as I could not swim to the bottom without coming up for air. I swore the elderly client kept sharks in the depths of the pool and they were just waiting for me to swim closer.
My bravest moment came when I jumped into the deep end, and swam with the lighting speed of 10 year old muscles, across the pool. I was never catch by the looming great white shark.
I had accepted the challenge and won. And I may, or may not, still do this challenge as a 30+ year old adult😂.
I thought there was a great white 🦈 in my pool too! You’re not alone Molly
Molly, I absolutely understand the whole shark in the pool thing! I saw Jaws when I was 6 or 7, and I wouldn't even close m😮y eyes in the bathtub, forget the swimming pool! Love that movie now😂
We stay here EVERYTIME! love it 🎉
