  • Pinocchio for Sega 32X was never released by Sega or Virgin Interactive. The prototype I was able to play here is lacking - attack and shield do not work it seems but jump does.

Quite faithful to the look of the classic 1940’s movie! The music is the “An Actor’s Life For Me” song sung by the fox which reappears several times.

It is such a shame that Sega did not continue this style of game on the Saturn. Could you imagine Disney games using the Clockwork Knight engine?
It is also a shame this was never released on the 32X. I have seen clips of later levels and it looks like it was quite amazing.

Well, they do a half the job on the music since 32X can do more sounds than Genesis.

Hopefully that was something that would have been improved upon had they finished this version.

@@RetroGamingMag Yup. Too bad that will never happen but still looks great. Knowing they got paid good to make the character run in smooth animation is a surprise before they pull the plug!

I had a 32X back then. One thing that really disappointed me with a lot of the games was sound. The music could have been better but they barely utilized the sound capabilities

Sadly, audio quality seemed to be a second thought to Sega during this period. Even when they had hardware (Sega CD and Saturn) that could produce amazing audio, Sega themselves often seemingly did their best to ignore the capabilities.
