In Nicks POV this does count as "his rarest catches ever" but in terms of rarity, I would agree with you thats its far his 100% IV with best MS catches in the past. Some trainers just have that one or few mons that they cant seem to bag. Let alone in multiple secessions. Lapras it would seem is one of those mons Nick has clearly been having a hard time getting since day one. So this is just another 'done it!' check list Nick has. As many more as it would seem. But yes, I too agree that his 100% collection is far more worthy of the label rare. But I also understand why Nick chose to label this as his "rarest catch ever".

the way he was breathing and the way he was reacting with the thumbnail made it sound like he found a unknown. an unknown is much rarer than a lapras, i've caught 4 of those wild.
case in point. ^^^ people passing off their own assumptions, then suddenly shouting clickbait . this was what Nick feels was *his* rarest catch. hence the "my" in the title saying "My rarest catch" . he never claimed, didn't say "pokemon go's rarest catch ever" in which case, people can then (at that point) be legitimately be led to believe the subject was Unown. but he did not do that. as Jacob mentioned, this was a thrilling run for a Lapras. lapras which many in Southern California barely have encountered in the wild. personally, i had to hatch one to get it for the pokedex and EVEN THEN, still didn't see any in the wild until the water event came around and only encountered maybe 5 or so the whole week
Are lapras that rare? I had 3 spawn up my road in one week not even during the water event,one of which was 1900 with 93% iv I've caught like 5 in the wild XD
ThatGamerDad I walked 3miles down the river in my city during the Water Event and was only to catch 5 Magikarps. I seen and caught more water Pokémon away from water.
He has problems sifting through Pokestops to find out where the Pokemon is.. Meanwhile I have only a single Pokestop here so I always know where the rare guys are. Who's laughing now, urban boys!?
He has no idea that in the next 3 years there will be a safari event and a raid day just for Lapras. I miss the days of searching for rare Pokemon. Now everything is just handed to us.

Thats bcos there are too many botters/spooofers here. When in reality, the majority of them wouldnt even have seen one without resorting to hackz. Granted I have thrown a ton of Lapras in my time, but I will ALWAYS be greatful for ANY real wild spawns unlike many here or so it would seem...
I love these types of Trainer Tips videos, where all he does is Pokémon GO. I still don't mind Nick experimenting on his channel with different things, but for me, videos with loads of Pokémon GO content are the most enjoyable. Keep up the great work Nick!

I really hope they implement TM's in the game soon. I just hatched my first ever snorlax from my 87th 10k egg during this event and it has very good IV but has Lick/Earthquake. Very frustrating :(

i did read online that people were appearing outside the building after he moved. someone posted a picture to facebook too. i agree with Jonathan, in that, it is a good habit to blur out these kinds of details going forward. of course, anyone can go back to old videos and see for themselves but majority won't. it is kind of sad that these people won't track him to his home building when they already have high chances of seeing Nick at the Pike

Nick, when I caught my single Lapras, which is CP468 and crappy IVs, on the last day of the water event, in a park that has no water, I jumped up and down, cheered and cried, I was so excited. Don't care what anybody thinks!! It was an AWESOME catch, and I cheered at the screen when you got it! :D

I literally got right to the part were he saw a Pokemon and started running for it, and then my iPad died... I had to wait a few minutes in suspense to later find out he saw and found a lapris, I though it was tiranitar... RIP. GREAT VIDEO THOUGH NICK!

Keep in mind some of the trainers used for the data you mentioned may know to use ice moves against dragonite and electric moves against gyarados, but be stuck without good attackers of those types (after evolving into electrode with two normal type attacks, etc.)
This is insane. I hatched a grimer today, and nick also hatched one (not technically on the same day, because of the upload buffer) today. And THE SAME THING happened during the Halloween event. Nick and I are psychically synced.

in the spirit of everyone else... my first lapras was in a parking lot of a hole in the wall law firm in lima freakin ohio. my next two lapras were inside the allentown rd walmart (which is weirdly a hotspot for spawns) my 4th lapras was after i moved out of ohio and during the water festival. other players informed me of its location in smalltown on the ohio river, in indiana. my 5th lapras was hatched just yesterdat from a 2k. all the other were really low ivs, so i have since transfered the ones from walmart. i too was hoping for something much rarer (dragonite, tyranitar, ampharos, unown...but even some of these have spawned locally for me). of course, since LA is said ot be a desert biome, maybe lapras is a rare spawn. with all due sincerity and respect, GOOD FIND, NICK!! ;)
Brandon Bernardo huh? I was under the impression that ditto could be any Pokemon except for raid bosses... Because I know for a fact I have caught rare Pokemon before but they turn into a ditto... It's happened to me twice so far!
I remember how I caught my Lapras in the wild. Showed up on a lure on a pokestop next to the Japanese restaurant that I was dining on. Also just recently caught Ampharos on the wild, near a parking lot while on the way to watch Fate of the Furious.

joran Jacquet because now it just spawned on its own, not 'cause an event + its the first one that spawns in his area. it is like i found a kangaroo in Sweden, wild, would be... eh.. wild.... but if i find it in Australia it isnt that cool.
joran Jacquet I'm guessing because this was a wild spawn with zero influence from Niantic. It's one thing to catch Lapras when it's like this and catching one when Niantic makes them spawn at the same rate as pidgey

I literally got right to the part were he saw a Pokemon and started running for it, and then my iPad died... I had to wait a few minutes in suspense to later find out he saw and found a lapris, I though it was tiranitar... RIP. GREAT VIDEO THOUGH NICK!

Keep in mind some of the trainers used for the data you mentioned may know to use ice moves against dragonite and electric moves against gyarados, but be stuck without good attackers of those types (after evolving into electrode with two normal type attacks, etc.)

my first lapras was in a parking lot of a hole in the wall law firm in lima freakin ohio.
my next two lapras were inside the allentown rd walmart (which is weirdly a hotspot for spawns)
my 4th lapras was after i moved out of ohio and during the water festival. other players informed me of its location in smalltown on the ohio river, in indiana.
my 5th lapras was hatched just yesterdat from a 2k. all the other were really low ivs, so i have since transfered the ones from walmart.
i too was hoping for something much rarer (dragonite, tyranitar, ampharos, unown...but even some of these have spawned locally for me). of course, since LA is said ot be a desert biome, maybe lapras is a rare spawn.

Brandon Bernardo huh? I was under the impression that ditto could be any Pokemon except for raid bosses... Because I know for a fact I have caught rare Pokemon before but they turn into a ditto... It's happened to me twice so far!
I remember how I caught my Lapras in the wild. Showed up on a lure on a pokestop next to the Japanese restaurant that I was dining on. Also just recently caught Ampharos on the wild, near a parking lot while on the way to watch Fate of the Furious.
