- the last song they performed on stage as 16HP. A cover of a beautiful Joy division song.
"beyond all this good is the terror
the grip of a mercenary hand
when savagery turns all good reason
there's no turning back no last stand
heart and soul
one will burn"
(Ian Curtis, died 1980)
I went to a Woven Hand concert this friday. They opened with this song. It was amazing! Totally blew me away! Always loved the Joy Division version by the way.
Yes for me too the last song I heard live from the band. Had a great impact sending me home with the memory of Ian Curtis.
Completely Brilliant.
16 Horsepower one of the best bands of the last decade if not the best
another band I regret never having to see live... I was in europe in 2003 but never got the chance to see them. they weren't as appreciated in the US as much in comparision to europe from what i hear.
16 Horsepower are great, this is probably the first time I've heard a Joy Division cover that did justice to the original!
A reforming would indeed be awsome. Until then I suggest that you enjoy David Eugene Edwards solo-project Woven Hand. He's released three albums so far, Woven Hand, Consider the Birds and Mosaic.
WOW!!! I would kill for a MP3 of this!! outstanding
John Frusciante's version of New Dawn Fades is genius, but this is immense as far as Joy Division covers go.
he released FOUR albums so far, Woven Hand, Blush Music, Consider the Birds and Mosaic.
And there is yet another CD, Blush accompanying the Ultima Vez performance.
Awesome!
Another simply stunning Joy Division cover by this brilliant band. Isn't it just typical that as soon as I descopver a band they break up! What's the point of breaking up? Si ti to maximise the cudos of the band? is it a musical suicide, obviously not as permanent as Ian Curtis's at least it can be undone. I suggest that they SHOULD reform.
Check out their albums Secret South and Hoarse and understand what I am on about.
grazie P!!!
Great tune love it
WOW!... sixteen are veryfuckinggood!"#
specialy because they are playing JOY DIVISION
R.I.P. Ian....
saw this one outdoor in 2004, antwerp. Just had a chemotherapy: too weak to dance, too fucked up to die. Beautiful
God I miss 16hp!
just wish i could find footage of their fantastic rendition of 'day of the lords...'
Girls vs Boys did a brilliant cover of "she's lost control"!!!!!!
Sorry, forgot about Blush. But then again, it's a soundtrack rather than an ordinary album so one could argue that he's only made three albums and one soundtrack although I'm too tired for such semantic debate.
fucking great !
nice vocals
ahhhhh...sing it to me beautiful!
you probably need an update on youre software so the data gets in
is this from the 16hp dvd?
I'm afraid I don't understand the question...
Love Joy Division, but I must say, I prefer DEE's version. He is so amazing.
lol agreed.
