@@SandraT269 Czechoslovakian wolfdog is a dog breed not a hybrid. It was bred to enhance German shepherds endurance for border control in Slovakian mountains. German shepherd was bred with a wolf and then puppies that were trainable were further bred with german shepherds and now only Czechs are bred with Czechs like any other breed. So there is no ethical dilema and since the breed is rather new there are no unknown liniages, all the tree can be traced back to original pair.

Malinois will over take gsd soon, gsds due to popularity, unchecked breading and being bred for shows suffered quite a hit to common health issues. As for military/police/customs work malinois is GSD on steroids.
My German shepherd is 11 now, she suffers from Inefficiency of Digestive Enzyme for 4 years now. With daily treatment of special meals, she is still in good shape and looks like 6 or 7 years old.
I had the CSW(died at 4 due to the 💩💩💩 vaccines) and now I have the german Shepherd working line(couldn't afford another one - they are extremely expensive). Differences: CSW - while is looking thinner, is more powerful than GS and quicker. It's more intelligent when is in nature than the GS. Doesn't smell(yap, can be held in the house) and he doesn't bark without a purpose, but is hauling like a wolf if he remains alone. Much bigger teeth. Much better smell, hearing and eyesight. Good with family and children. The downside: they need more socialization than GS, they don't repeat the commands as GS, they are more scared of big noises, don't like crowds, also don't like to remain alone. Males tend to be very dominant so take care around other males. For a normal family GS is the primary choice, but if you get the CSW, don't worry too much. P. S. CSW does have a bigger head which means that has a bigger brain (at least 1/3 bigger than a GS)
@@matthaberek I don;t know about how much GSD sheds but CSW sheds alot depending on seasons, most when they are changing coats autumn/spring almost no shedding in summer and consitent sheding in winter. Good thing is that they don't require alot of grooming, their hair fall off them very easily and you can brush them 1-2 times a month in heavy shedding season. Another thing is that they have a rough wolf hair on their body, and dirt falls of them aswell, my CSW is covered in dirt, mud after swimming, digging and rolling around by the time we walk back to the house everything is dried up and fallen off and he is clean to go inside. Temperament is much more dificult then other working dogs, they are not really interested in pleasing people. So while it is easy to socialize them and teach them good manners so they make good descicions (they are much more independent then most dogs) it is much harder to get them to listen to commands and they will never listen as good as GSD will. They are not as gentle as GSD aswell they can play rather rough and in general they are not as cuddly as other dogs, most common thing you will hear from CSW owners, the dog is always near you, but they almost never come to cuddle up with you, they like their personal space but they will fallow you around everywhere. Might not sound like it from the descriptions, but most loyal dogs I can imagine, never lets you out of their sight, never runs away, earn their respect and they will respect you the same, they have one of the strongest if not the strongest pack instinct so they really hate being alone.
They are both very great dogs but I say the GSD is better cause I have just a juvenile one and she is so protective of me and my family like if she sees anyone that she doesn’t know she will start barking

i have to say i don't really support wolfdogs, the amount of breeding throughout the many years of our breeds of today cause so many problems for our current dogs that wasn't really problematic back then. It even lead to some breeds going extinct cause they were force to mix breed to get the type of dog they want. It also makes me so mad that people are going so far to control something that was meant to be wild and actually almost went extinct because of the many breedings with our current dogs and pretty much killings good thing the wolves are good in yellowstone and population is now stable.

If you compare this official breed which is in the video, CSW, to kangal, yes kangal is huge and more powerful. If you get some American wolf dogs, just a mix, yes it can face a kangal without problems.
You can say that the gsd is smarter than a Czech wolf with all the arguments you want BUT you cannot say that it's smarter just because it has a lower prey drive, as that is super wrong. Wild animals for example have a higher prey drive than a random dog but I wouldn't say, again as an example, that a grey wolf is less intelligent than a Labrador... ALSO: the weight shown for the gsd is that of a show line gsd, it even has a long-ish coat so that's the first sign that it's a show line dog. Working, hardy gsds are smaller, slimmer, and don't have the typical horrendous backlashing butt, they're way better in my opinion. There are five (2 show, 3 working) gsd lines and my favorite one is the Czechoslovakian one! (Just a coincidence I swear).
Also CSW is related to the Czech GSD because they wanted a better and healthier one. You should check CSW's history. Pretty interesting, because they were interested in capabilities, not looks.

They are also weaker than the vlcak. Chezhslovakian wolfdogs are better guard dogs and better for those with an active lifestyle. Theyre more independent and dont get as anxious when the owner isnt home. They also require more socialization as they tend to be cautious, and rough kids can cause aggression. They can kill a kid easily due to their strength and speed, but so can the shepherd. The shepherd is good for family homes, as working dogs, and for both a lazy and active lifestyle. The Vlcak is good for adult homes, as working dogs, and for an active lifestyle.

CSW has a different story. You should check it. It's different from usual type of breeding.
