Always appreciate for you sharing your experiences🙏🏼.
As a former eating-disorder, I find it difficult to share my experiences of how to overcome it

In the uk you say I need help…and they tell you you’re not ill enough. Then at some point later down the line they say you’re too unwell for treatment. Its nearly impossible to get treatment here even if you’re close to dying, or you do actually die.

I’m about to go to residential and it’s so funny how similar your initial story is to mine in terms of doing an intake thinking it’s not that bad, maybe IOP and ending up with an admission date to residential like a week and a half later lol

Fwiw I also have Medicaid and some states do have help available!! In PA it covered literally nothing, but I moved to WA and I can finally get help even with Medicaid. Just in case you ever move or something, it might be worth researching again!

At least you were offered treatment. Even though my Drs and therapists wanted me in residential nobody would take me because they wouldn't take my insurance. I was denied assistance for residential by the county and sent to an IOP where we spent a lot of time dealing with people who refused to eat their meals and therapists who were apathetic. In the 5 months of IOP I only saw my psychiatrist 3 times.
