Good question. i think the 5 consciousnesses relate to the
5 sensual consciousnesses.Earth is smell,water is taste,fire is sight,air is touch,akasha is space and sound is the mahatava,the source of akasha.All elements are light energies and therefore can be transformed into all sorts of combinations. This is the magic of bon.
