I wonder if Transformers: Headmasters will be retconned as the sequel to the G1 cartoon (after Season 3) and the fourth season as well. At the very least, it will complete the original G1 cartoon.
Isaac Adam No. Headmasters is part of the Japanese continuity which is slightly different from the American one. At this point, they didn't get The Movie (and maybe consider it non canon), the OVA Scramble City all ready introduced the Cityformers and Season 3 now takes place in 2010 and not 2006 to name a few changes in this continuity.
Headmasters and S4 can't be in the same canon, as they both tackle the subject of Headmasters in very different ways. Headmasters is the midway point for the Japanese Canon, while we all know that S4 is the end of the road for the original series.
The guy singing this is the guy who sang "Cha-La Head Cha-La!" for DBZ. He also did the Japanese intros for Beast Wars Seasons 2-3.
And his band, JAM Project, did the Japanese Opening for Transformers Animated. Hironobu Kageyama rocks!
