Al Roker has so much money. Why don't he just donate his money instead of asking other people?

because this has a lasting impression on both the children and the city. You would not believe the excitement it raises here in Kansas City... Bill I am sure that they would welcome ANY money you want to donate as well.

NBC has so much money and they beg the public for money. So sad

You just don't get it Bill... This is NOT NBC putting this on, but a number of actors who are from this area. They are doing it to help a CHILDRENS MERCY HOSPITAL. This is a something that started years ago. They invite other celebrates to participate.. One of their MOTHERS helps to arrange transportation and rooms for them. It is ALL ABOUT THE CHILDREN.... Again... YOU are welcome to donate to the Hospital as it seems you are concerned about OTHER people doing so. Just Contact CHILDRENS MERCY HOSPITAL in Kansas City.. OR if you contact the Kansas City Royals front office, they can help you arrange your donation.. So Sad for you that you don't understand why people donate to charities...

I always donate to charities.NBC is also making money off of advertisements.

The sole purpose of a business is to make money... The Advertisers pay for air time to get their ads across. It takes a lot of equipment and people to do so. NBC is not a charity. If they don't show a profit, their management gets fired. This is how the real world works. The Big Slick game happens at Kaufman Stadium were the Royals play... They Big Slick has no control over who broadcasts the game.. That is not the Royals, but the MLB who sells rights to watch baseball. The Big Slick is a charity... You seem so worried that someone is making money... The Big Slick is a charity and ALL they money they get goes to the Hospital helping CHILDREN... It happens BEFORE the game. Al Roker is NOT paid to be there. He is donating his time to do so. ALL the Celebrates are DONATING their time to be there. Who else get's money is not really the issue. Drop it Bill.
