So a bit of backstory here. This is an EXE based on the Game Gear Sonics. In one of them you can kill Tails in a bad ending.
Think this is working off that ending.
The music is from the Game Gear sonics.
The best part about the screamer at 8:06 is that the creator tried to take the eyes from sonic, but failed and left the left one obscured by the nose, like "oh that's too difficult to erase, guess I'll just leave it"
The design and the game physics seem to be mimicking the Game Gear/Sega Master System Sonic games.

I get what it was going for, Sonic's depressed over Tails dying in the bad ending of Sonic 2 on the Sega Master System, Sonic is easier for Robotnik to kill because of it, Sonic as a ghost runs into Tails and the two reunite.

it's not a romhack, it's an edit of a sonic engine based on the 8-bit sonic games. so no, even though it was made in gamemaker, the creator didn't even make it. all he did was download an engine and edit it lazily.

I've gone back to this video just to watch mutahar laugh at that screamer more times than i care to admit.
Honestly this .exe almost used everything that .exe games are somewhat good at. If they just had the "RIP" in complete silence without the sonic it would've atleast been unsettling. It's still redeemable in my eyes.

I decompiled this game so that I could open it in Game Maker 8. Needless to say, it was a huge mess. Doesn't help that the developer used an engine created by a 10-year-old.

All jokes aside, I love .exe games. Yes, even 'cringy' ones! Someone put time into it and even if it's 'cheap' they make me very happy.
Makes me want to finish my EXE game. Nothing to do with Sonic or any existing game or cartoon franchise, it's kinda it's own thing. And no screamers as well - I prefer subtler scares. But the general idea and gameplay is similar so it'd qualify as exe game.
