- In this video we'll go over the commonly taught mechanism of the alkyne hydration giving the enol intermediate which then undergoes the keto-enol tautomerism to give the final product--ketone.

About that Mercury Catalysed Hydration my teacher did ask this on the quiz. (I was aware that I need to study this). So thank you so so much Victor for a great explanation of this mechanism :)
This is one of the trickier mechanisms for sure. I see many instructors just skip it altogether and say just “know the product” and how we get there is a sausage box.
I misspoke in the mechanism recap, it's of course an "enol" and not an "enolate"
