  • Another quick snapper tip...
How to position your boat when rocking up to a patch of reef.
    1. don't drive over the reef
    2. check the direction of the current/drift
    3. Find the pressure edge
    4. start your drift about 30-50m away from the reef so that you come up to it... Chances are the bigger fish are right on the edge or the flats.

Those whale sounds at the end are just wow.
Thanks for the tips! My question is how do you anchor right around the flats

      The whale is cool!
I rarely anchor for snapper. Especially when using lures to be able to cover more ground.

Hi. How do you determine current from navionins app?
How do you drift without always snagging your end?

For determining current… there are a few ways. To determine direction on naviknics. You can check the direction of the wind and see if there is any influence on the drift line. You can also drop a lure below the boat to see which direction it goes.
Sometimes getting snagged means you are in the right area. But to avoid… look how fast your lure sinks, then compare to the water depth and count out the time in your head. I hope that helps…
