Much appreciated! This one was challenging and I am glad I went back in and reshot some of the clips to make them look better. Thanks for watching and posting.
Just finished playing this. It was a surprisingly enjoyable game. My biggest complaint is that it does not fit back in the box. The same thing happened to me with RE3. Once the tokens are punched out, there’s just too much to put back in the box. I needed a craft box for the tokens for both of these games.
22:00 I have one house rule. If a hero is close to an enemy I need to break away, they cancel each other out. Previous TMNT game had this rule so I kept it. Makes more sense to play cooperative and have your team come help you.
GREAT video! I recently bought this game and my roommate and I finally played it tonight (just the first tutorial) after the game I said I’d go online to watch a how to play to make sure we played it right. Your video was VERY informative and there’s a few things we did wrong (such as not doing climb actions correctly, not giving Alopex her defense cancelling roll, moving on and LOS through the black borders/blocked terrain and having minions use two move actions. I can’t wait to play again tomorrow the right way lol.
You’re good at explaining man. I have played the Batman One from IDW and going to try this for the first time. I am familiar to the system fue to batman but ofc this might have some differences. Looked at your video and found out every detail very useful. Thanks for the examples! 🎉
Very good. I have the game but it has been awhile since we played it so this is a nice refresher. I do believe they changed the climb action for AI characters to one action now based on the Batman game coming out which retroactively affects this game.
Thanks for watching and posting. I know they are making changes to bring it more in line with Batman and we may see some of them with the expansion if it comes out;)
Just reading the rules and I'm a little confused. Ranged attacks require you to be at least on space away (not adjacent). I understand that when making a ranged attack against a figure on elevated terrain you have to add +2 spaces to account for their being elevated. So if your on low terrain and only one space away your actually three spaces away for your ranged attack. The rules state that: "Figures making a ranged strike from elevated terrain to low terrain suffer no additional penalty (standard ranged strike rules apply)." So if your on elevated terrain and you want to attack a figure in low terrain that is in the space right next to you how many spaces are they considered to be from you? Your three away from them making an attack against you does the same apply to you?
No they count as 1 space away. Remember that each space of distance reduces your combat dice of the attack by 1. So if they are 3 spaces away, and you had 3 combat dice on a ranged attack, you would lose 2 dice for the additional two spaces beyond the first and only get to make the attack with one dice. If you are on elevated terrain, you would get to make the attack with 3 dice as they are considered only 1 space away from you.
I wanted this game when I saw it suggested to me, but I'm currently halfway through this video, just realized how much I have left to get through, and barely understand maybe 60% of what you've explained so far. This game looks so convoluted and confusing. That might just be because I'm more used to simple board games like Monopoly, Clue, and Battleship. I still kind of want it, but geez there's so much to keep track of.
I understand what you are saying and it is much better once you start playing. A lot of the rules in the game are for specific situations and I felt I needed to cover as much as possible, but once you get into games like this and get the core rules down it is not so bad. Let me know if you get it and if you have questions that come up. Thanks for watching and commenting;)
@@LearntoPlayGames I do have a few questions after watching this video. One being you said at some point during it that you would show what it's like to play where there's people playing heroes and the villains instead of the villains being an AI? Do you still plan to make that video?
@@matthewscorner2990 That is used as a book mark to keep track of your current mission if playing in a campaign and it also is used to track the current round you are playing as some scenarios have a set number of rounds. To track that just use a sewer lid token.
Can you play five player co-op if you wanted to? even if the scenario calls for four people is there a way to make the game a little more challenging if you wanted to play with all the turtles and Casey Jones?
I think you could house rule a couple of things and make it work. I would try adding some additional enemies or another villain that should help. If you try it let me know how it turns out;)
Hmmm 🤔 with the focus ability, defense ability and card abilities this game seems to be really easy, like you wouldn't ever be scared of getting knocked out.
Thanks for watching and for the question. In the rules on page 31. Leap effect: Leap up to 3 spaces in a straight line Leaping figures don't have to break away. aren't affected by slow or rough terrain, and may pass through, but not land on, other figures. So no you do not have a breakaway cost when leaping. Hope this helps;)
This is very similar the other TMNT game, Shadows of the Past. Even the same symbols on the dice. I'm looking at buying 1 of the games, I'm just not sure which. What do you suggest?
I would get one of the newer ones either Change is Constant or City Fall as they have had their rules adjusted and the models and boards are much better this time around. Thanks for watching and for the question;)
defiantly TMNT change is constant/city fall improved the rules from Shadows and added full coop and they are compatible with the new Batman game that was funded a while back from IDW;)
Looking for clarification on the Leonardo Leads card. "...you may have any 2 heroes swap places, changing how the dice are shared." This doesnt mean on the board? Cause that doesnt mess with the dice sharing. So by "swap places" does it mean swap places at the table? Thus swapping where their spot is IN the sharing circle?
@@LearntoPlayGames it does. We were playing it that way but its such a hassle when u got a full table. Mostly we use it to regain focus and thats it, and then house rule that next round he can swap two sets of dice
Easy to follow, questions answered, rules well explained, great job going thru another How To Play video 👏🏽🐢🎲☝🏽
