Fun trick I recently discovered for the water slums mission: have full dark jak -> dark bomb into water -> use hoverboard to zoom to the end of the water slums -> jump onto the platforms to escape. Dark bomb will destroy the turret, which will allow you access to the water. I do recommend saving right before you enter that mission, so that way if you use up dark Jak and die, you can just reload so you don't have to do the annoying mission.
Jak 2 came out on OpenGOAL few days ago and I completed the game today for the first time xD, I remember when I was 7/8 and I was playing Jak 2 on my ps2 I just couldn't beat the game, but now I can finally say, I beat Jak 2!
Jak and Daxter remains my favorite video game series of all time, and Jak 2 is my absolute favorite hands-down. I don't care so much about the difficulty, since I grew up playing these games and beat Jak 2 when I was like 9 xD I love the story and the gameplay so much. Jak 3 is a messy story with too many minigames, and Jak 1 is an amazing game just a little lacking in the story department. All 4 games including Jak X are amazing in their own ways!
Yeah this is the first series I’ve ever completed. I never played any jak and daxter before so I didn’t have any sort of nostalgia going in, and I was doing them all in a row so I think that’s why I didn’t like jak 2 as much but I will say I enjoyed all of them and looking back it was a lot more fun than what the video may portray lol
Same with beating Jak 2 at a very young age. I can’t help but laugh at the people complain about the difficulty when I beat it so young and I still play it every few years and beat it with no trouble
aktually cant believe you did it. me and my friends we played the hole jak series including jak-x (me excluding jak1) and there are just some missions that took hours or wheren‘t completable. especially jak-x had some races that you played for hours and then got lucky to get the bronze medal. jak 2 had side missions also on the edge of insanity. would‘ve loved to see more of the struggle and pain, here it seemed like you breezed through those. the 118% completion on jak2 has 70 hours of playtime in my file

I too missed one of the missable precursor orbs in Jak 2, only found out after completing all the challenges and searching all the areas just to find out we can’t go back to the final mission. But I didn’t want to use debug mode so... I had to restart it, and after collecting all orbs and completing all challenges I realized I was missing 3 orbs. Apparently there’s a glitch in the game where you can miss orbs from challenges. For example if you do a race, get bronze, and hit try again before you physically get the 3 orbs then you have missed those orbs. So even if you get gold next you’d only get 6 of the 9 orbs from that race. Since I already did everything a second time I knew I absolutely couldn’t crack now and use debug mode so... I had to do it all a third time! On the bright side it was far easier after doing it twice already, on the not so bright side I had to do it three fucking times.
Well done on practically getting the platinum trophy on Jak II legitimately, and I totally think you earned it. I was able to get all the trophies aside from the last two Precursor trophies and the platinum on my own, but those races and mini games were so rage inducing that I finally gave in to using debug mode after a year of seeing that 84% completion on my trophy list. Much respect to you, good sir!
