Question, if obedience is works based why do these churches that teach this seem so happy and joyful? Everyone I know that believe obedience is key are always happy and seem to be so connected to God
I know that if I kept sinning I am cursed and things look bad, this is what it is. Gods will is u to be restored. How can you be example to people if we live in disobedience? Relationship matters, this is personal experience, I dont know about you? The more I stay in prayer, praying in spirit and so on, I feel I walk more in tuned in spirit and actually felt close with God. What Jesus meant Follow me, deny yourself ? Taking thoughts in obedient is also doing, why not follow everything that Jesus asks us, and choose parts only to fit the doctrine? We need to follow Jesus not this or that doctrine, isn't that so?
Andrew says that the solution to sin is 'stop sinning'. So is that otherwise obedience ? So are people who are unable to 'stop sinning' not obedient ? As All have fallen short of Glory then no one is obedient ?
@c.u.c7938 If you want to stop sinning rest in Jesus. Jesus wants you to come to him and trust him with your burdens. Enjoy your savior. Focus on Jesus, not your sin
Yes, BUT there always seems to be BUTS? Scripture says blessed is the man to whom God does not count their iniquities..absolutely great..amazing grace. So, king David who was lawless in the matter of Bathsheba and Uriah the Hittite, was freed from the penalty of his sins, yet he delighted in God's law and regarded them day and night. However, 1 Timothy 2 says to live godly lives which is like the same as keeping the law. Galations 5 and verse 27 or thereabouts says that those who live lawless lives will not inherit the kingdom of God??? Paul however goes on into Gal 6 v 1 to say that those who are spiritual should attempt to restore those who are overtaken in a fault, yet those who persist in remaining lawless can't therefore be true believers. So, if lawlessness isn't counted against those who believe, then why stress the need to restore them anyway, and why stress the fact that those who live lawless lives will not be in God's kingdom if belief is all that's required to be saved. It would appear that godliness is therefore the same as keeping the law except it's achieved when led of the spirit rather than in one's own efforts because to be led of the spirit is the proof that someone truly believes?
Excellent teaching explanation!!!!

What if I'm not obedient?
We will never be perfect, but we keep getting back up.
Rest in Jesus. Trusting in Jesus results in obedience

Exactly brother, this is what I have been struggling with for over a year now
You live a Godly life as a natural outflow of resting in Jesus. Sin will not be appealing when you trust your savior.
