I was introduced to this band a few weeks ago, and I continue to be completely overwhelmed by the sheer musicianship and talent on display. Every member of the band. As a bass player myself, I'm naturally drawn to Koga. She's an absolute beast on the bass, and I say that as a player who was inspired to become a bassist in the first place by Geddy Lee, and then further inspired/influenced by Steve Harris and Joey DeMaio. Every one of them, though is magnificent. Fuki's power vocals. I am a complete sucker for a powerful female voice. Tomozo simply shreds, and does it musically. Oreo's keyboarding is lovely. And Hana ... there is nothing a bass player likes better than a good drummer, and she's an *amazing* drummer. Sadly, I do not understand the Japanese language. Normally, for musical purposes, that doesn't matter to me. I enjoy a number of bands, from different countries, in different genres, and I can hear the vocals as simply another musical instrument, and my inability to understand the words has no effect upon my enjoyment of the music. The first Japanese artist I became a fan of was aiko, and it never mattered that I couldn't understand her. I became a fan because of the emotion in her voice, and I felt like I could understand what her songs were about because she was so good at conveying the emotion of each song. And I was completely floored when I finally found English translations of a few of her songs, and I discovered that I had, at least in a general way, actually figured out what each song was about. But, in the case of DOLL$BOXX, I really, really want to know what the songs are about. By simply watching the videos, I've formed an impression, an idea, because I've picked up a distinct theme running through them. My impression is that the DOLL$BOXX project is a satirical commentary on the portrayal/role of women/girls in pop culture. I would be perfectly happy whether I was proven right or wrong.
Couple things... You are SPOT ON about this band. I feel in love instantly with the musicianship. I've played guitar for 25 years and bass (poorly) for 15 years. Koga is amazing. You want to really be floored go checked out Gacharic Spin. Gacharic Spin is DOLL$BOXX without Fuki who is the singer for Lightbringer. In Gacharic Spin, Hana (drums) is the singer after the original singer Armi left the band for medical reasons. Hana also plays keyboards (before Oreo Reona joined) in a few songs and I've even seen video of her playing guitar...just crazy talented. I'm going to make your wish come true. Someone was kind enough to not only translate the songs, but do it RIGHT. Not some half ass Google translate. You can find all the songs here with the exception of Nudi Rhythm which is actually a Gacharic Spin song they re-recorded with Fuki for this album. ENJOY!! lyricstranslate.com/en/dollboxx-lyrics.html
I have all the translations on my tumblr. Did a couple of them myself since no one had them at the time (this song, as far as I know, my translation is the only one) cutepiku.tumblr.com/post/65305781481
This is the last song on the Dolls Apartment album, and the only one that didn't get a video. Also, DOLL$BOXX will most likely stay a one-album project, which sadly means that this is also their "last song".
flyingwillounet You'll never Know... they might make a second album.. as Fuki and the 4 members of GS all know that they have the right flavor to make this line up a very successful Band
I like the way the band is with Fuki. They have a different sound. I do wish they would make a Jazz album. I think it would be awesome. btw, I'm not criticizing your comment. I just think they should sound different from Gacharic spin.

Hopefully Yes, because this group rocks seriously....and literally awesome!
CrocodileJack207 Yes.. hope so... because as off. June 2014... Fuki is still rocking with Gacharic Spin on their Tour as front woman of the Band
ZERO LINE And DOLL$BOXX are still on the Road promoting the albums with lots of mini concert already set..
