i hope one day blender basically just copies maya's approach to the graph editor, because I feel like they really have it done in the most efficient, animator friendly way possible. It's one of the only things I hate about blender
it's also great to know that you can add "only selected curve keyframes" to favorites; so now I can just hit Q to quick toggle that option in the graph editor.
one other thing I found when banging my head against the graph editor is if you double click on the name in the list it will select all the keyframes in that name. useful if you want to select all and change the start point or something
Why does 'Shift H' stops working when the 'only selected curve keyframes' option is turned on? Is there any way around it to Isolate curves with hotkey while being in "only selected curve keyframes" mode? Please help, looking for it since ages :(
Is there any way when you click on an arm bone for example (in the viewport) it will jump to that curve in the graph editor please on the same frame? Rather than me having to click on frame selected?
Hello from blender 4.1 > please > where is Only Selected Curve Keyframes now ?... can t see it inside the : VIEW : panel. now there is " ONLY " Only Selected Keyframes Handles .... thanks ;)
Hi, thanks for your video! I have a problem: I have some modifiers on a f-curve and one of them is "limits" modifier. As soon as I enable this modifier the fey frames I have before and after the range where the modifier is set to operate dissapear. How could I have some modifiers operate over a selected frames and after that manually set other key frames without having to delete the modifiers for that f-curve ? I hope my question is clear. Big thanks !!!
These two settings didn't changed my life - they allowed the life of my PC/keyboard/mouse to continue. Thank you. Blender is doing a good job at explaining through tooltips what does what, but sometimes some things can still be confusing or overlooked. In some areas, one thing I like to do is to go through menus and PICK what I need. I don't press Control+T in the Shader Editor. I go to Add-Texture-Image Texture, then Add-Vector-Mapping and finally Add-Input-Texture Coordinate, because that's a good way to get to know what's where. In other areas, I use shortcuts, because I like shortcuts, A LOT. I like shortcut so much that I pack some of them under combinations of mouse/keyboard buttons/keys in AutoHotKey. I heard I like shortcuts so I put some shortcuts in my shortcuts. For example, in Edit Mode I don't go to Mesh-Mirror-X Global, I press instead XButton1+X and AutoHotKey sends the key combinations that mirror the selected geometry along x axis and then flips its faces. Not to mention the orbit/pan functions mapped completely to the mouse and without which I don't think I'd want to use Blender. One of the biggest sins of UA-cam Blender tutors is the: press Tab, then Numpad1, then Shift+A . . . kind of explanation. Beginners don't need to learn shortcuts, they need to learn interface and commands. Thank you for your work and help.🤗
In 4.2 seems I cant box select key frames only from selected channel. When I click in empty space to drag a box select it deselects any selected channel. Anyone know a work around?
In Blender 3.6 Only Show Selected Curve Keyframes moved to Edit > Preferences > Animation.
It is no longer in the View menu.
Thank you for this. I freaked out when I couldn't find it in 3.6 lol
Tha k you soooooo muuuuuuiiicccchhh

In just two minutes, you've made it so the graph editor is no longer scary to me! Thank you!
OMG! THANK YOU SO MUCH! This has been driving me nuts for years.
I came from Maya a few days ago, and this one has been driving me crazy. This little tutorial is extremely helpful if you are used to Maya. Thank you!

Shift-doubleclick for me - maybe a change for 3.4
Huh my blender 3.3.0 alpha already had the opacity at 0.25 as default.
Amazingly useful! Thanks!
Hell yeah. Always good stuff. Ty CB!
You are a gentleman and a scholar.
I JUST found this out yesterday and am planning on turning this into an addon

You can't use the Local transform orientation in the Graph editor. How I can I fix that?
Thank you man! Very helpful😉

How do you see node properties in your graph editor?
Just select the node and they should appear.
They unfortunately are not. I can make the keyframe, but i'm not seeing them on the graph editor@@CBaileyFilm
thank u so much
so cool
YAS!
🤯
i cant see curve handles
these should really just be the default settings
My graph editor doesn't turn on at all and I am tired of your video popping up every time I try to search up the problem.
You can also just shift+h and alt+h lol
Your a life saver! Thanks. The option " only seleted " is no longer existing at Blender 3.6.0. So i can only work with hide and unhide.
Don't know why they wouldn't be on by default....typical open source stuff
THX! awesome tip!
Very helpful, thanks!
