does radiation therapy hurt
I also got radiation, it doesn't hurt while you're recieveng it but it has a lot of side effects like radioepidermitis, extreme weakness and vomiting. I'm having radiation for a totally different tumor called liposarcoma in my abdomen, but that's what I can say from my experience.

When you have radiation, do you have to stay away from everyone in a bed with four walls or is that only when radioactive? Does radiation make you radioactive? Feels kind to dumb but have heard different things!
Sarah Spindler I'm a radiation therapist and the answer is no. The patient is only exposed to radiation while the beam is on in the treatment room when receiving external radiation therapy like her. She herself is never radioactive from this treatment.

Quick question. Did you ever receive ifosfamide chemo? If so, how was it compared to cisplatin, doxorubicin, methotrexate?
My son's osteosarcoma has returned in his lungs & they are talking about a new chemo. Just curious that's all. You look wonderful by the way!!!
Rebecca C. Hello Rebecca, I'm 14 and I have osteosarcoma cancer also I have had all those chemos. I can say that ifosfamide is definitely my harsh and draining chemo than the others. The other 3 are much more easy going and you experience less side effects than ifosfamide.
I'm will be going to do my 5th round of chemo so that is only my experience and opinion on the comparison

i had the cis/dox/meth when i was first diagnosed. the cis+dox was the worst. i had ifos and eutopaside when i relapsed and it was nearly as bad as the dox/cis because i had a 5 day cycle. wheras my dox was only a 2 day cycle. i also experienced a heck more side effects, but im not sure if that was because it was my second time having chemo. my gut is still recovering and i had my last chemo over 3 months ago!!!
is radiation painful?
Nope!! you dont feel a thing!
You can sometimes get at nasty rash-looking scars tho..
Danny Apodaca Usually if its in the deep tissues, its typical not painful. Now if it were on a more sensitive spot that's not deep in the tissues, there would be pain- I was told this by my radiation oncologist
