Dua Rabbana Atena Arabic Calligraphy with Copper & Silver Leaf | Timelapse Painting video #43

This Arabic Calligraphy depicts the 'dua' (prayer) 'Rabbana Atena' (Arabic) from Al Quran asking Allah for good in this world and hereafter.
I did an abstract background with bright colours and wrote the Arabic verse with a permanent marker first then with a paint brush to darken it more. I used copper and silver leaf in the design. I put the gilding adhesive with a brush between the design and left it for two hours until it became tacky. Then I carefully placed the copper leaf and left it till the next day. After it was stuck nicely, I brushed it carefully and cleaned the extra leaf and repeated the same process to put the silver leaf. After two days I varnished the leaf. The painting was also varnished fully again.
