  • We are pleased to invite you to a fireside chat featuring Secretary of Energy Jennifer M. Granholm and C2ES President Nat Keohane, the latest in our series of policy discussions. Even as prospects for climate policy remain uncertain, the urgency of bold and timely action to address climate change is clear. This discussion will focus on the ways transformative investments in innovation can reduce emissions and encourage greater business ambition to accelerate the global transition to a net-zero economy.
Last year’s Bipartisan Infrastructure Law included a range of investments to help reduce emissions across the economy, including the transportation, power, buildings, and industrial sectors. Importantly, these investments were focused on accelerating innovation to reduce emissions, enhance domestic energy security and strengthen our ability to compete in a low-carbon global economy. Yet to cut U.S. emissions in line with our 2030 NDC and help domestic industries capitalize on rapidly growing markets for low-carbon goods, more is needed. Congress can act to maximize the needed investments in innovation and drive demand in key sectors by passing the more than $500 billion in climate-related investments included in the Build Back Better agenda.
    Speakers:
    The Honorable Jennifer M. Granholm
    United States Secretary of Energy
    Nat Keohane
    President, C2ES
