I am 55 years young and recently purchased the 2021 Indian Challenger Limited. I saw it on a Wednesday evening, did my research on Thursday and took it of the showroom floor on Friday! Now how did I just happened to stumble upon the very thing I am challenged with, to now want this in my lifetime list. You guessed it turns, turns and more turns. My biggest challenge with riding today. You made this seem so less intimidating than hearing folks talk about it. Thank you for sharing and providing that spark of desire to conquer the Tale of the Dragon. I will be sure to come back and share. 💙
Congratulations on that new bike! I’m hoping to do some Indian demo rides soon. I appreciate the kind words and I hope you get many exciting miles on that bike. Be safe and thank you for watching!
New subscriber, nice job on this video. I rode The Dragon back in 2018 on my HD FLHTC and later this week I will be riding my 1946 Indian Chief.
Thanks Gary! I try to make it over to the Dragon once or twice a year for some riding time. I'm hoping to go over the to Cherohala Skyway soon too. Ride safe out there!
Hi Ty 👋👋👋. What a genuine person you are ☺️. This vid was great to see .... I love the area the Dragon is in ... soooo many gorgeous trees along that awesome road!!! New riders can learn from the points you make in this ... riding at own pace plus road etiquette 🤷🏻♀️. Love the shots of you and your bike!!! Thoroughly enjoyed this Ty!!! 🥰👋👋👋👋
I'm glad you enjoyed the video. I love the Dragon. It is one of my favorite rides. Thank you for watching!
I have lost count how many times over the years I’ve rode the TD. Like most I have pressed myself. I know my skill level. I now tell others in the group I don’t want to lead. I’ve come up on all types of issues. The worst is the 53 foot big truck. Everyone got stopped. As ya know road s blocked with a truck that big. I did not have a shovel with me and there were wittiness s I have to be good lol. Thank you for the ride.
Thanks for the ride along Ty. We are overdue for another run, we get up there at least a couple times a yr. I have now started motovlogging and I want to shoot a run there. Keep up the good work. Always enjoy your videos.
Thank you very much! I like the Dragon. Many people think it’s overrated but every time I go it’s a blast!
Hey Ty, nice video. My wife and I rode the dragon for the first and second time today. We made a lot of memories. This road is fantastic. Stay safe my man. Keep up the good work.
Glad to hear you guys had a good day of riding. I’m hoping to go back soon. Thanks for watching Michael!
A great introduction to the Tail of the Dragon. I won't be riding it on a motorcycle, but I'm excited at the prospect of driving it in my Corvette.
Yeah man. Now that sounds like a good time. Drive safe and thanks for watching!!
Been there many times, not too far from home. I won't go on a weekend though. You are one smart man, let your buddies go at the pace they want to, and you do you! Stay well, Patrick
I enjoyed that ride. It was a lot of fun. We went on a Sunday and for some reason it didn't seem to crowded. Thanks man!!
so hope to ride that road this year! would be a nice little vacation
It's a lot of fun! I try to ride the Dragon a few times a year. Always a good time!! Thanks for watching!
Nice! What a beautiful place to ride. Great video 👍🏼
Thank you very much! I appreciate you taking the time and checking out the video and the channel!!
Hey TY... Great ride and voice over with excellent advice for riding the Tail of The Dragon. We rode it twice in 2017, and it was fun. Rented a cabin for 3 day at Cherokee / Great Smokies KOA Holiday in NC.
We were there in the middle of the week and not much traffic.
Stay Safe
I love to ride the Dragon. A lot of people say it's over-rated but it was still so much fun!!
Great Video, looking forward to doing the Tail of the Dragon at some point.
That looks awesome! The weather is perfect for the ride too. Looked like a great ride. We ride up to Thailand to a place called Mae Hong Song which is similar to the dragons tail with 133 turns over 50 miles. Be safe brother
Thanks man! I just subscribed to your channel. It looks like you have a ton of great content.
Going ti ride my first time this summer. Nice Video.
That’s fantastic! I hope you enjoy it. Ride safe and thank you for watching!!
I'll be there in June this year. Will be my first time out there, can't wait.
You'll love it! Just take your time and ride your own ride and you'll be just fine! Thanks so much for your comment. I appreciate your support for the channel!
It's been years since I've ridden there. I came to check out your channel after hearing a shoutout from Blue Bike And Doyle. You have a nice channel , I subscribed. Take care and ride safe.
Thanks Snowbird! I really do appreciate you for doing that. Riding on The Dragon that day was a full day of fun!
Never been yet but it looks awesome , thanks for sharing
Thanks man. Hit me up for a group ride if you ever make it out that way!
I have not ridden the tail of the Dragon. I have no fear of my riding ability what scares me are others that I would meet coming in the opposite direction. I don't know how many videos I have seen where someone rides outside there ability and crosses the line into the oncoming traffic. You look like you had a great trip and did not meet "that guy " I liked your video well done. You gave me some great advice.
Glad I could help! It's a fun ride for sure, but I just took my time and went at my own pace. Thanks for watching!!
I was riding the Dragon on the July 4th 2020 long weekend. Still have to edit my video and post! thanks for the video.
Nice! I hope it was a good day of riding for you and a lot of fun! I appreciate you taking the time to check out the video!
Top video tiger 🐅
Thank's for sharing video..amazing
Thank you very much for watching and supporting the channel. I really do appreciate that!!
Awesome dragon ride!
Thank you very much! It was a lot of fun and I'm hoping to go back soon!! Thanks for watching...
@@TyFromTennessee your welcome. It looked a handful as you said it was!
Nothing like a good twisty road...Ride like you got nothing to prove...Great video and as always Ride safe take care...Thumbs up...
Thanks man. Sorry for my late response. I've been out of town for a few days. Take care and thank you very much for watching!
@@TyFromTennessee Thought nothing of it...Take care and ride safe...
I loved the twist & turns of tail of the Dragon, but what I remember now is that dragon sculpture of Dragon an parts, got bike by the tail! Store was really cool too. Strange I remember that dragon on that ride, but I remember something on almost every ride, that biking! I rode dragon on 86' Yamaha Venture Royale. My comments about year later an news is Harley-Davison closed it York doors, an no know for how long if ever? Did you get to first gear in those tight turns, cops too. I see the Dragon, haha!
Hey Tim! It's a great area to ride. I try to go to the Dragon a few times every riding season. I recently took my Sportster S to the Dragon. That video will probably be released on Saturday. Thanks for watching. I appreciate your time today.
Sporty, being light weight, maneuverable an powerful would be great bike for the Dragon! Ride Safe!
Hi Ty nice video. Any suggestions on where to stay/what to see while I visit the area, hotels, restaurants, places of interest, must ride roads, etc... Thanks!
Thank you sir. If you get to go you will love it. There are so many great places to ride. We always stops at different places to eat and such so you will have lots of choices. Be sure and check out tailofthedragon.com/. Lots of info on that website. Be safe out there!
Not sure what part of TN your in but if you might look up hwy 421 The Snake. Not as much traffic 489 curves and has a photographer. Lol I'm a sucker for the photos also . Ahh.. Chattanooga.
Thank you for the recommendation! I will check it out! Yup, I'm in Chattanooga!
Ty, have you be on Devil'S triangle, it's a pretty good ride, lot more turns if you turn off 27 and go thru coal hill to coalfield
Hi Dean. I've been on the Devil's Triangle twice. Yes, it is a fantastic ride and I'm planning on going back this Spring/Summer...with a stop at Brushy Mountain Prison for a tour! Thank you for watching!
Nice job. I'm not far from the dragon but dont really care for it. Try 421 the snake a lot less congested
Your mirrors look a little lower due to your handle bars. I’m having the issue of my 12s are right in the middle of my mirror and for that are useless. What did you do to lower your mirrors?
KST makes a bracket so that the mirrors can be lowered and then it provided much more visibility for me. The Fairing XChange setup my bars for me and they also painted the lowering bracket to match the inner fairing. I hope that helps. Thanks for watching and commenting Joseph!
What is your opinion on riding the Dragon with a passenger? Thanks!
I don't think I would feel comfortable riding two-up on the Dragon, but for some it's not a problem. I guess it all depends on if you feel comfortable for not. Thanks for watching and commenting Aldo!
I live real close to the dragon. My family lives in the middle of it.
It's a great ride. I try to go once or twice every riding season. Thanks for watching!
Heading to tail in a couple weeks on a Road Glide. I’m a noobie….any tips?
Ride your own ride and go at your own pace. If you need to use the pull offs to let faster traffic go by. I hope you enjoy the ride and thanks for watching Neil!
How long did it take you to ride the dragon one way?
Maybe about 20 to 30 minutes. Not too bad. My 2021 Tail of the Dragon will be out tomorrow! Thanks for watching!!
@@TyFromTennessee thx man I am heading to this place in next few weeks I am super excited
I never see the highly technical parts in any of the dragon videos I've watched.
Hey Lynn. Many parts of the Dragon can be tricky but I’ve been on many more technical roads. Thanks so much for watching!!
I've never ridden the dragon before, but after watchin ya got my fever up! So is the entire ride in tree lined? Or do you get high drop offs like in Colorado?
Just found your channel through FletchDyna, so glad I subbed! If you get the chance, ride on over to my channel Whats Up Bob and see whatcha think! Thanks! Stay Safe!
Sorry for my late response. UA-cam thought you were spam. Lots of different types of scenery on the Dragon. For the most part you have trees on both sides of you with plenty of pull-offs if you need them. I will sub to your channel as well. Thank you very much!
Great video and great advice it is definitely one that you should ride at your on pace. I saw you last night on scouses channel, and I subscribed 👍. Get a chance check out my channel just get it started as well.
Thanks man!! I appreciate your time for watching and subscribing. I subscribed to your channel too!
Ride it only on week days! Much safer!
Great suggestion! I've ridden the Dragon a few times on Sundays and the traffic is a lot less too. Thank you very much for watching!
Why does everyone ask people to like, subscribe and comment/share/click the bell at the beginning of the video, why would you like a video you haven't seen yet? Why would you subscribe to a person you haven't seen yet? And how do you comment on a video you haven't seen yet? Just asking, not trying to be combative, just wondering why everyone seems to get this at the wrong end of the video.
I think you make a valid point. In my newer videos I don't ask until the end of the video. I do, however add elements/effects to the video to remind people to comment/like/subscribe. I appreciate your time and your comment!
Im local to the Dragon and hate it. To many inexperienced riders and simply to crowded. Way better roads in the area.
I would have to politely disagree with you that the TOTD is "Highly Technical". I mean maybe if your a new rider. This is the most over hyped stretch of road. Its a good road but there is so much more roads that are better than this in this area.
Thanks for the comment Nick! I appreciate your feedback and that you took the time to watch the video. Ride safe bud!
At the beginning of your video you put an intro like so many youtubers. Is this suggested/required by YT to gain watch time? I skip the intros and get to the good stuff every time. Good video otherwise 👍
No. The Intro isn't required. I use it for some videos and some I don't. It just depends on what I want to do with the video. Thanks for watching!
